Chapter 6
Sentaro, unable to move thanks to Luthor's attack, couldn't do anything but watch Luthor feed off of Kitty's blood. Suddenly, he found he was able to move a little, it seemed that the paralyzation spell was wearing off.
Sentaro: Yes, the spell wore off. Watch out you freak, the second you let go of Kitty, I'm taking your head. You will pay for what you've done.
Luthor: *removes his fangs from Kitty's neck and puts her down gently*
Sentaro: *charges at him with his blade in his hands* Die b*****d!
Luthor: *blocks Sentaro's attack with his rapier*
Sentaro: s**t!
Luthor: Why are you so persistant in destroying me? You can't beat me and you know it.
Sentaro: Shut up! I'll find a way to defeat you, even if it'll cost me my life. *suddenly feels something grab his leg*
Kitty: Please stop Sentaro-san.
Sentaro: Kitty! Are you all right?
Kitty: I feel a little light-headed, but I'm okay.
Sentaro: Thank goodness. *suddenly punches Kitty in the face*
Kitty: Ow! *tearfully* What was that for?
Sentaro: What the hell were you thinking?! Why did you tell that monster to attack you? I told you to run!
Kitty: Because I couldn't just leave you here, I couldn't stand the fact that you were gonna be attacked. *crying* You and Ryo-san were always there for me whenever I was in danger, you two always got hurt protecting me, and I never found some way to show you my gratitude, and this was the only way I could think of, self-sacrifice.
Sentaro: Kitty...
Kitty: You guys always protected me, and now it's my turn to protect you guys. After all, that's what friends do, right?
Sentaro: *falls on his knees* I'm sorry...
Kitty: Don't be, I'm just glad you're not hurt.
Luthor: Such a noble act, risking your neck to save someone. Tell me young lady, do these two boys really mean that much to you?
Kitty: More than you'd know. They've always been there for me and I'm not going to abandon them.
Luthor: ... I see. *chuckles*
Sentaro: What's so funny?
Luthor: You're quite an unusual child.
Kitty: Huh?
Luthor: A normal human would get scared and leave their friend to perish when they're being attacked by something they can't beat, but you stayed, faced your fears and did what you could for you comrades. You've earned my respect. *bows to Kitty*
Kitty: Oh.... um.... thanks. ^^;
Luthor: Just to let you know, I had no intentions on killing anyone.
Sentaro: Then why'd you attack Ryo?
Luthor: Wouldn't you defend yourself if someone attacked and started accusing you of being a blood-thirsty killer?
Sentaro: Good point...
Kitty: We're sorry and I'm sure if Ryo-san were here now, he'd apoligize as well.
Luthor: It's all right, it was actually quite fun, I haven't been in a brawl this exciting in centuries. *turns away from them* I think you should check up on your friend, it looks like he took quite a beating from me.
Sentaro: Oh god, he's right. Let's go back to the inn Kitty. *runs off*
Kitty: Wait up!
Luthor: Hold it.
Kitty: Hm?
Luthor: If you three are not from around here, what're you doing so far from home?
Kitty: We're on a journey to look for someone.
Luthor: Another comrade?
Kitty: Yea, I haven't seen her in years. I just wanna see her again.
Luthor: I see. I, too am searching for my comrades as well.
Kitty: Well I hope you find your friends soon.
Luthor: Thank you.
Kitty: You're welcome. Well, bye. *runs off*
Luthor: Those three are different, yet they share a strong bond of friendship. They're quite strange but in a good way.
The next morning, they packed their things to move to the next town. Kitty and Sentaro found Ryo outside with a cart and a horse behind him.
Kitty: *gasp* Horsie! x3
Sentaro: Where did you get that?
Ryo: I stole it. xD
Sentaro: -_-; I had to ask...
Ryo: Well, since the next area is two days away, I thought why walk there, when I could just "borrow" a ride?
Sentaro: One of these days you're gonna get us in trouble Ryo.
Kitty: *gets in the cart* Cool!
Luthor: *appears, wearing a cloak with a hood over his head* Yo.
Kitty: Luthor-san!
Sentaro: What's with the costume?
Luthor: We vampires are not big fans of sunlight, gives us a really bad sunburn.
Ryo: Hey dude, these guys told me your side of the story. Sorry for attacking you. ^^;
Luthor: *smiles* It's all right.
Sentaro: What're you doing here?
Luthor: I came to see you off, and to give you guys something. *gives each of them a small pouch*
Kitty: *opens her pouch, there was a beautiful, shiny, blue crystal inside* Pretty!
Ryo: Whoa! How much are these babies worth?
Sentaro: I feel a strange energy in these crystals. What are they?
Luthor: They're Sending Stones. Focus your spiritual energy in them and they will give you the ability to communicate with each other if you three ever get separated.
Ryo: Cool, they're like walkie-talkies.
Kitty: Thanks!
Sentaro: Why are you giving us something so rare and valuable?
Luthor: Think of them as parting gifts. You three take care of yourselves, and I hope our paths will cross again soon.
Kitty: Same here. Bye! *waves*
Kitty, Sentaro, and Ryo bid their farewells to Luthor as they ride out of town and head to the next village.
Luthor: I hope you find what you're searching for. *disappears*
