Bite to Break skin Part 2: A Leap of Faith
WARNING: I read too many romance novels. This chapter does have some rather...... erotic.... parts. So if you have a problem with that... Don't read it.

Part 2: A Leap of Faith

Leaning against the wooden railing of your porch, you close your eyes and smile. A light breeze tousles your hair and shuffles the leaves about on the branches of the thick trees surrounding your home. You open your eyes and look up at the starry night. The moon is not out so the small pinpricks of light shine in all their glory. Your eyes scan the back yard but then lock onto a black shadow just before the tree lines. Despite the lack of lighting, you can make out the male figure within the shadow. His eyes shine like black opals as he stares up at you. Fear begins to grip you until it is nearly choking. A second figure, again male, steps forth from the patio below you. The wind carries to you the menacing laughter from the man by the trees, "Do you honestly think you can protect her? Remember, I am your maker, your King. Therefore, whatever or who ever belongs to you, also belongs to me. Have you already forgotten my powers Jacob?" Suddenly, a searing pain passes through your skull. You cry out in pain and drop to the floor.

Perhaps it was the crashing of utensils to the ground which woke Reyna, but more than likely, it was the pounding headache squeezing behind her eyes. The noise was the last thing Reyna wanted to hear so early in the morning, the sun even had yet to rise. As a precaution, Reyna grabbed the wooden stake she had hidden beside her bed before throwing on clothes and going down the stairs. The grandfather clock chimed four times before going silent in the living room. Silence pressed against around Reyna and it made her uneasy. Before turning into the kitchen, Reyna tucked the stake into her back pocket.

"Yes, I'm still here," a deep male voice said, "The aspirin is under his tongue. I just hope the ambulance gets here before it's too late." Reyna heard the beep come from the phone as the conversation ended then as it was placed back into the cradle.

Calmly, the male voice spoke again, "Reyna, your father had a heart attack. Get out here; I have no intentions of hurting you."

When Reyna stepped around the corner into the kitchen, her eyes automatically locked onto her father. He was lying on the brick floor with a pillow under his head and a quilt wrapped around him. His eyes were squeezed shut and his face was twisted into a grimace.

Reyna looked up at the stranger who was starring at her. His piercing blue eyes made her nervous. He flipped his dark, dirty blonde hair out of his line of sight. Muscles rippled beneath his tight t-shirt as the stranger crossed his arms.

"Who the hell are you anyway?" Reyna asked in a demanding tone.

"He got to you again. It amazes me," the stranger shook his head.

Reyna was about to ask who this "he" was but her father groaned and began to stir. His eyes never opened as he spoke, "Reyna, go with Jacob….. You can trust him…. I messed up…. Drake's on his way." Her father grimaced and took breaths as if he just ran a marathon. Reyna leaned down and placed a comforting hand on his forehead.

"Well, you heard the man." The stake in Reyna's back pocket was thrown across the room before she was suddenly airborne as the stranger, now called Jacob, lifted her up. Somehow he had managed to get behind Reyna without her noticing.

"Let go of me!" Reyna flailed around trying to break free, but his grip was fierce, "I can' leave my dad."

"You're father was fully aware of the possible consequence before he attempted his crazy spell. I warned him what could happen if it got messed up. But he obviously did not take the warning lightly. His heart was in the right place, he was trying to protect you better, but the black arts are not something to take lightly. Now you are in even greater danger and it is my job to make sure nothing happens to you."

Reyna had stopped flailing about at this point, in fact, it appeared she had frozen. Her mind was racing with thoughts, one of which being about her father dieing at her feet, the other was of her dreams. She looked down at the arm gripping her; surprising warmth was spreading throughout her very being. She could almost hear the smirk in Jacob's voice as he whispered, "He might be able to hide the memories from your mind, but he can't hide them from you body."

"What are you talking about," Reyna whispered back.

Jacob loosened his grip, "I'll explain later, but right now we need to get going."

By this point, Reyna's father had softened into a relaxed state. His chest had stopped its haggard rise and fall. Reyna swallowed the lump on her throat, no one needed to inform her of her father's end.

Jacob finally released his hold and walked over to the back door, "If you don't get your a** outside this door, you're going to end up like him," he gestured to her father's body.

She starred into Jacob's blue eyes, such familiar eyes, only for a few seconds before taking a leap of faith and walked out the door.

Reyna's feet stopped moving at the edge of the patio. Her eyes scanned the woods for anything, or anyone, that might be standing around them. Jacob appeared oblivious to this move, "If you jump on my back we could move faster. Hopefully, we can get to a safe place before Drake shows up."

"How do I know I can trust you?" Reyna would have sworn a look of pain crossed Jacob's face. Although it had lasted for no longer than a second, she had seen it, and the look confused her.

"You walked out that back door didn't you?"

"Touché," Reyna stepped behind Jacob and jumped on his back, piggy-back style. She finally decided to accept it, "You're a vamp aren't you? That's why, in some twisted way, my dad trust you."

"And the pieces begin to come together." With that final remark, Jacob took off running. Reyna was frightened at first at the incredible speed at which they were moving, but the feeling subsided as Jacob wove his way around the foliage with ease. Reyna closed her eyes and rested her head against Jacob's back. Maybe everything will be ok after all.

How Reyna managed to sleep was beyond her. But when her eyes opened, she was set off guard due to the strange ceiling above her. It took her mind a few minutes to register what happened to her the night before. Her father was dead and she was no longer safe in her own home. Now she laid her trust with a vampire she had only just met, well according to her memories that is. How is it he could make claims of knowing her previously? Was it true that Drake had been messing with her memories? More importantly, why? She felt violated at the thought of having her mind erased.

The door to the room opened and Jacob walked in with a silver tray filled with food and placed on the table beside the massive four-poster bed, "Figured you would be hungry. Your stomach was growling while you were sleeping."

"You were watching me while I was sleeping?" Reyna found it weird that she was not completely freaked out at the thought of this.

"No, I would simply come in and check on you. Now eat something."

Reyna picked up a bunch of grapes and slowly munched on them, "What time is it?" she asked between bites.

"I'd say almost time for the sun to set."

"It's a lot latter than I thought."

Jacob sat down beside Reyna. She tried to make herself as small as possible, "How old are you?"

"Around 2500 years old. I was a Spartan Warrior, arguably the best."

A slight smirk pulled at the corner of Reyna's mouth, "I don't believe that."

To Reyna's surprise, Jacob removed his shirt in one smooth move. It was as if Jacob was a god stepping off of Mt. Olympus. He certainly had enough muscle to argue his case but the scars running across these well defined muscles were what held Reyna's attention. Jacob traced over a few on his biceps, "These were from practice," next, the long one on his stomach, "from the battle of Thermopylae."

"Wait a minute, The Battle of Thermopylae? You were one of the 300?"

Jacob nodded, "Half way through the battle I was captured, by Drake. This is the true reason as to why your father trusted me. He knows I am an enemy of Drake, my maker."

"Oh," Damn, that's a long time to be alive, she thought. Reyna continued with her questioning, "So how much time have we spent together that I can't seem to remember? Not to mention, what did we do?"

"Maybe it's best if I don't tell you. Chances are you won't believe me anyway."

Reyna glanced over at him, "Why?"

Using his vampire speed, Jacob had Reyna facing him on his lap, "do you really think that mark on your neck is the only one?" Jacob placed a hand where Reyna's hip met her pelvis. Reyna gasped as he face turned red, "Because I gave you one right here.

Reyna jumped off of him and walked around the bed, "You mean we're involved?"

"If that's how you want to put it," Jacob smirked, "Would you like me to demonstrate?" With his amazing speed, Jacob had Reyna pinned against the wall. The chock of her back hitting the bricks sent a strange shiver through her.

Gently, Jacob brushed the hair away from Reyna's neck. He kissed the pulse in her throat as it heightened. A slight ache began at the back of Reyna's skull and her vision began to blur. The kisses continued up her neck. Then, it was as if flood gates finally burst and Reyna's mind was flooded with her stolen memories.

Images flew forth at a frightening speed; Reyna sneaking out at night to meet with Jacob, walks in cemeteries, nights just gazing up at the sky, and finally images of Jacob teaching both Reyna and her father how to fight and defend themselves against Drake. But it was not just the memories, but the emotions attached to them that startled Reyna. Finally, Reyna's mind figured out what her body already knew; she needed Jacob. He was the passion and desire that fueled her. He brought her back from the brink of destruction after her mother's death.

"So the dreams were memories. I guess a part of me was strong enough to keep some hold on the."

Jacob stopped his kissing and looked at Reyna with a slight look of shock. With a mischievous smile, Reyna ran her fingers through Jacobs's soft hair before kissing him hard on the lips. The kiss knocked the breath right out of her. Every cell within Reyna's body hungered for Jacob. Jacob's arms pulled Reyna tight against him.

When the kiss broke, Reyna looked up into Jacob's eyes. They were half lidded with lust and his lips were slightly swollen from the kiss. With a growl, Jacob threw Reyna onto the bed but was by her side just as fast. This made Reyna giggle.

With a swift move, Jacob removed her shirt. Reyna never wore a bra when she slept, so her breasts were instantly exposed. Immediately, Jacob's mouth found a hardened n****e while his hand teased the other. Reyna ran her hand through Jacob's hair as his tongue rolled over the bud. Jacob bit, carefully, the tender flesh causing Reyna to arch her back and let out a small moan.

Jacob's hand snaked its way down Reyna's stomach as a fire traveled with his touch. Reyna rubbed her hands down Jacob's sculpted back then brought them to feel his abs. With nerves bouncing in every direction, Reyna made her shaky way down to Jacob's jeans. She placed a hand on the prominent erection pushing against the fabric. When she began to rub, this prompted another bite to her n****e causing her to buckle.

Reyna had a difficult time removing Jacob's pants; it was almost as if she could not concentrate on such a simple act. But Jacob had no problem removing hers. He removed them with the same speed and grace as he did her shirt. Jacob's lips found hers as his fingers found her hot, moist center. Reyna let out a moan. His fingers moved in and out at an almost teasing speed. Waves of passion moved Reyna's entire being and just when she thought she could take no more, Jacob removed his fingers. Reyna was about to cry out a protest, but Jacob did not give her a chance. He replaced his skilled fingers with his throbbing p***s. A whimper of ecstasy escaped Reyna.

Just like his fingers, Jacob started out his movements slowly which gradually gained speed. Knowing she wouldn't hurt him, Reyna dug her nails into Jacob's back as he pounded into her again and again. Her breathing was labored as their lips met in another fiery kiss. Jacob's lips moved down to Reyna's throat. He sank his fangs into Reyna's all too willing flesh. She cried out as the pain was smothered in pleasure. Her body tightened around him as she climaxed. As she moaned his name, Jacob gave one final thrust before reaching his own climax, this sent Reyna over the edge again. Jacob never wanted to stop sipping the sweet nectar pouring from Reyna's neck, but he knew he had to if he wanted to keep her alive. So as Reyna tried to gain back energy, Jacob gently kissed her forehead, nose, and both her rosy cheeks. When her eyes opened and locked on to him, Jacob felt as if he was starring into a green sea of stars, her eyes were so bright.

After a few long moments of kissing, Jacob got up and found new clothes for both him and Reyna. Reyna made sure to leave some extra clothing for her at Jacob's as a just-in-case plan.

Although Reyna was fully dressed, she crawled back into the warm bed. She felt so beautifully exhausted. Jacob gave her one final kiss on the forehead, "Go to sleep and I will be back before you know it. I know I might have just fed off of you, but babe, if I took all the blood I needed from you, well, you get the idea."

"Ok, just hurry up." Reyna closed her eyes.

Jacob chuckled slightly, "I will." Jacob could hear Reyna's steady breathing signifying Reyna had already fallen asleep before he even reached the door. Hopefully he did not have to travel too far to hunt tonight.
