The random thoughts that pop into my mind
Bite to Break Skin
Ok, so here's the deal. Sleeper wanted me to write a short story for her. Here is the first part. I'm not going to say when I will be getting the other parts up because I still need to write them. But at least it's something. Oh, and if anyone tries to steal this, I will hunt you down, tie you to a cactus(naked), and unleash fire ants into your rectum through an awkwardly shaped tube with no lube. Thank you.

Bite to Break Skin

Part 1: It's Just a Dream

The dream world is a scary place to be. Dreams can appear so real that your sense of reality is altered when you first wake up, but then the blank ceiling finally comes into focus. The small sliver of light breaking through your black curtains illuminates your walls and random objects scattered throughout and this altered sense dissipates into nothing; however, the memory lingers.

You can still feel the strong arm pulling you against rock hard abs as a hand snakes under your shirt. A second hand brushes away your lush brown hair to expose your neck. Gentle kisses slowly make a line down the exposed flesh to the hem of your shirt. The thin cloth is shoved out of the way be a nose and the kisses continue to the shoulder. A quick n** on your neck causes a startled moan to escape your lips. This brings forth a deep chuckle from your captor as he whispers seductively into your ear, "I think someone liked that." His warm breathe against your ear makes your breathing come in quicker, deeper, as your heart races. You grip the hand on your stomach as he nibbles on your ear.

Anticipation builds within you. Anticipation for what, your brain might not know but it appears you body certainly does. Then, without any form of warning, the man that emanates strength and power sinks his pearly fangs into your neck. A shudder races throughout your very existence. Your legs clamp together to try and prevent the explosions taking place in your lower abdomen. Every time he draws a sip of your life's fuel through tow tiny punctures, a fire spreads throughout you body and he grips you harder to him. With the one last final draw of blood, your knees give in but he does not let you fall. He licks the wounds clean and you can feel his erection pressing against your lower back.

You are afraid to speak as you catch your breathe. When you finally regain your balance, the grip loosens and you turn to face the man that made your body shake and scream. But before you can see his face, the dream dissolves into nothingness and you are back in reality. You tell yourself it was only a dream. Everyone you know has had a sexual dream at least once within their life time. So you brush it off, write another entry in your dream journal, and go on with the day.

* * *

Reyna starred at her ceiling as it steadily grew brighter with the movement of the sun. Dreams were just that, dreams. But hers have become increasingly erotic every night for the past month and a half and it worried her. They had begun with innocent walks in parks and cemeteries that grew into kisses and nibbles on the neck. Yet none began to compare to last one. This time, when the secret man bit her, he bit to break skin, and Reyna had liked it. No, she more than liked it, she craved it. This was the reason why she feared to dream. Would she end up walking down the same path as her mother? Or was it the feat of falling in the same steps which gave life to these dreams? Her mother had been a kind and caring women before her life had been violently cut short. It was a topic Reyna and her father made sure to never touch upon. Her dreams, however, made her mind wander into those memories.

Reyna's mother had appeared distant and vacant when she arrived home late from work one cold February night. Reyna had been starring at her presents, all wrapped in vibrant sweet sixteen paper, for the past three hours waiting for her mother's return. She had watched as her mother walked right past the kitchen and heard her make her way up the stairs. Her father looked at Reyna in confusion, then, went upstairs himself. Playing with the small black bat hanging around her neck kept her focus away from the arguing going on upstairs.

Her father swore he knew what was going on; Reyna's mother was having an affair. For the past two weeks, she had been coming home at least three hours late every night from work. She said it was some major corporate project that she was working on for her company. But when her father called the office one of these nights to ask what her mother wanted for dinner, the secretary told him she had left a few hours earlier. He then proceeded to ask about the project, but apparently there was none. So the theories flourished and the arguing began.

After several minutes of playing with the charm, Reyna finally turned her attention to the presents in front of her. "Might as well," she half said to herself and half to the bat. Despite the drama upstairs, a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips as Reyna tour open the first package and found an assortment of vampire movies. Vampires were her obsession. She hated how girls in movies would call themselves vampire freaks only to scream and run away when one exposed themselves. "Such hypocrites," she would say at these particular scenes. The rest of the boxes produced black-fingerless-lace gloves, a silver charm of vampire fangs, black nail polish, and ten pairs of fishnet stockings ranging in a variety of colors.

Crashing glass followed by silence caused Reyna to stop focusing on her gifts. Her stocking feet made it possible for Reyna to run up the stairs without making a sound. Her parents door was left open slightly. Reyna peeked through into the door and choked on a scream. Her mother had her father pinned up against the wall with one hand around his neck.

Reyna burst through the door yelling, "Stop it! What are you doing?" At this moment, her father went limp and her mother was so startled by Reyna's entrance that she dropped her husband and he fell like a rag doll to the floor. Her mother turned and Reyna could not believe her eyes. Standing before her was not the sweet mother she had grown up with but an evil creature. This creature's eyes appeared so dilated that a pupil took place of the usual green. Sharp fangs were exposed past pink tinted lips.

"God you are so annoying", it sneered. The creature flipped its thick and wild chestnut hair over a shoulder, "What could Drake ever want with a child like you. He has a grown woman who understands so much more."

"Who's Drake?" Reyna asked in a feeble voice.

"My maker," the beautiful beast smiled, "And today I learned that he never wanted me. The a*****e only desired you. It's all so pathetic. You're not even pretty. And to think we share the same genes and it sadly shows. Same hair, same vibrant green eyes, even the same damn body structure. You know, I wasn't going to do this right away, but since you know my little secret due to you're idiot of a father, I might as well take out my competition now."

When her mother began to launch herself at her daughter, tears stung the back of Reyna's eyes as she backed against the door. Her father had gained consciousness during his wife's speech and grabbed her ankle's causing his wife to fall. She left out a howl of fury and kicked at her husband but missed. She was still a young vampire so her powers had not grown to their full potential yet. Reyna had to act fast. She snatched the small side table and bashed it against the wall. As her father struggled to pin her mother to the floor, Reyna broke off a wooden leg and did what her instincts told her, drive the weapon into the creature's heart. The shriek of anger and pain soon became choking as blood spilled out of the once peaceful women.

Later, the police report would read nothing like the actual events that took place. The belief would be her mother had a mental break down. When she snapped, the surge of adrenaline caused her to lift and choke her husband. When her daughter walked in, she tried to attack and Reyna was simply trying to defend herself when she accidentally killed her mother. The court would find both her and her father not guilty of any wrong doings

Now, over a year later, Reyna and her father are prisoners their own home. They both first thought about moving but feared this Drake would follow them and they would never be safe. They have decided to never venture out at night anymore. Her father still runs his at home business, but his schedule is completely flipped. He now stays up all night to help guard his daughter. He knows nothing of Reyna's dreams. She cannot bear to place anymore stress on the man.

Reyna is more than aware of her father's failing health. After the death of her mother, her father barely ate or slept. The doctor told Reyna that it was only a matter of time before he has a heart attack that would ultimately kill him.

After that night in February, her father made it his mission to learn everything of vampires and of Drake. Researching the monster that had changed his wife proved to be useless. Every search led to a dead end. Reyna tried to help but seeing her father slaving away on the internet and stacking piles of books before him became depressing to Reyna. She even stopped seeing her psychiatrist because she found it useless as well. She could never tell him what really happened that night. Besides, she was fully aware of the situation and understood it. Reyna refused to let it consume her like it did her father.

If there was anything Reyna missed, other than her mother, it was her sense of freedom. She loved the night and being out in it. The gorgeous summer nights Reyna could now only observe inside. She had graduated from high school and was denied the benefits the other kids in school had. The small handful of friends she did have stopped calling for her only after one week once school was out. They had told her she needed help, mental help, because she was only making excuses when asked to hang out. They did not understand that she could not go out at night for fear of her life.

After another month, Reyna stopped caring about human contact. She would walk the streets of her small town aimlessly just to get out of the stuffy prison she called home. Walking caused her mind to wish for its ignorance back. If there were vampires in this world, what else could be out there? And then the dreams began. What did they mean? What were they trying to say? These were questions that plagued Reyna.

When she finally got bored with her ceiling, Reyna got up to start her morning routine. First, she went downstairs to start a some-what ritualistic pot of coffee only to travel back upstairs to take a long hot shower. Already, the memory of the dream had been brushed aside. When Reyna tugged her shirt over heard head a pain caused a hiss to escape her. The pain came from her neck. In order to stall the inevitable, Reyna slowly dressed. When she was finished, she spaced at the foggy mirror before her. The condensation had begun to evaporate at the edges as if a veil was slowly being lifted.

Reyna wiped the mirror clean and starred at her reflection. She half expected to see crazy wild and curly hair not her normal straight brown, her eyes were not black but their usual unearthly green. Reyna's pale and delicate skin showed some signs of a tan while her teeth were still normal. But there was a change. At the base of her throat was a pale bruise. Reyna poked at the bruise and discovered this was indeed the reason for the pain. The dream began to leech its way into her consciousness. The bruise was at the same spot the man in her dreams had bitten her. Yet, people produced bruises, even wounds, due to a dream. Reyna told herself this was what happened to her. "It had only been a dream. It was just a simple dream." No matter how many times Reyna repeated those words; the same question would dance around them, "Was it really only a dream?"
