Yes...I have a swim meet tommorow. I didn't know about it until today. I love swim meets. *hopes it doesn't get canceled becuase of rain*
Swim team is one of the best things that has happened to me in a while, even though I sometimes resent practice. A lot. I have been noticing myself getting stronger, being able to swim more laps than I could at the beggining. And 25 yards doesn't seem nearly as long now as it did at the start of this. It's only been like three or four weeks. Eventually, I'm going to stop coming in last every race. But I have discovered that I should be in the 13-14 age group, since I was still 14 when swim team started, but I was put into the 15-18 group. So I'm swimming against 18-year-olds my first year of swim team ever. I think I'm doing pretty good, since I'm not losing by too much. By next year, I may be able to actually place first in some races. *hopes* My goal for now is to not come in last. Especailly in backstroke. I could have had third or fourth at the last meet, had I not messed up my flip turn. That angered me a bit, that I was doing so well until I bombed the flip turn, got water up my nose and in my mouth, and got slowed down becuase I was coughing up water instead of breathing. I lost so much time on that flip turn. But hey, from my first to my second meet, my time in individual freestyle improved by 10 seconds!!! That's a lot, and it wasn't even a week between the meets. I had three practices between the first meet and the second one. I was so proud, you don't even know. I love swimming. I hope we work on backstroke tommorow, so I can work on my flip turn and not lose because I screw up. And...I'm getting into much better shape. I look, feel, and swim better than I have in a few years. It makes me feel good and want to keep going with this.
I still would rather be playing soccer, though. mrgreen Soccer is my first love. *can't wait for fall league to start* August practice starts. Less than a month!!!
I got my slippers!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!
I love summer.
