NOTE: The Power 8 - Ain't it great?
Hey it's 2008! In honor of that my first journal of the year revolves around the number 8 - here's the story behind it: So I was going back over my latest story where Kit suffers through what I called the "Eight Trials of the Heart" and I began to wonder why I chose 8. I hadn't thought of it. Surely 7 would've been just fine. According to numerology 7 is a number that represents thought and consciousness - nice huh? But in the bible and old times 7 represented completion. Lucky number 7, on slots its 7-7-7 that wins the jackpot. But in numerology 8 has meaning that applies more to my stories (not that I knew this when I wrote it) which is Power and Sacrifice? Isn't that just all about my stories? Plus it looks like they symbol for infinity! So once I started thinking about why I had chosen 8 trials instead of 7 I began to look back on my other stories. And well apparently I'm being stalked by the number 8 - or I'm stalking it...and not just in Kit Stories - all of them! (some are kind of a stretch) But let's start with Kit and her past lives on Zegwar.
On Zegwar, when Kit's soul was still Kita there was a group of six but because Kita had three spirits instead of one there were 8 spirits and therefore there were also 8 personal Kinwas. (Wind, Thunder, Flame, Light, Grey, Darkness, Water and Earth)
There were 8 evil Kinwas
Kita had 8 Kinwas attached to her and therefore had 8 symbols on her cloak
There were 8 people on the Rawgez team that helped Kita and Cair get back to Zegwar
Kinala had 8 cousins
Overall in the tales of Zegwar there have been 8 main characters whose name began with "K" (Kizap, Kizo, Kita, Kitwea, Kinala, Kit and Kent)
On Zegwar four of Kit's past lives married four guys - that's 8!
Of all of Kit and her past lives' deaths 8 have them have been at the hands of/result of Lintu and 8 of them have not.
There are 8 Guardians of Toshadow (Kit, Kent, Bunny, Kiki, Mark, Sarah and Mayasa)
Including Kit (whose real name is Christina) there are 8 people in her generation of her family that with meet with "C" names (the 7Cs - her cousins plus her)
Kit's immediate family (mom, dad, bro, sis...) has 8 people (she has 3 Dads+2 Moms+3 Brothers)
8 guys actually took Kit on real dates
Kit has been on 8 different teams
There are 8 members of the Omega Team when Kit goes back to visit them
Kit has 8 titles (Princess, Dagger of Light, Avarsis, Phoenix Nexus, Crystal Avatar, Demon Hunter, Mage and Sorceress)
There are 8 points of light
The 8 Trials of the Heart
Kit has 8 students (the 7Cs + Justin)
Her vanquishing spell form is 8 lines long
Kit was 8 when she started being trained
There are 8 Departments in Goldman & Trent
Kit first met Kiki when she was 8 even though the didn't know it at the time

Over all I have 8 main characters (Kit, Raye, Rina, Lumi, Sarah, Taylor, Hannah and Errol)
In Raye Tani she was 8 when her father died and she was taken in by the Tani Clan
Raye had 8 Guardians in the house of Tani

It took Raye 8 years to get revenge for the Tani Massacre (she was ten when it happened and eighteen when she killed Darak)
In Rina Balan where real name is an 8 digit number as is all the other slaves but hers is the only one with an 8
Rina only learns the names of 8 kids her age (teammates: Kel, Elanio, Yasa, Fera, Futaro, her tutor: Pato and the boy from Menaka: Matu)
