-Reviews of Fulmoreās One Act Play: The Rivers and Ravines.
--On Thursday evening the Fulmore One Act play The Rivers and Ravines was presented at the Middle School One Act Play Festival (with 12 other AISD middle schools) on the Akins HS campus. The critique from the judge, who formerly taught at Bowie HS and had advanced to the High School State level UIL One Act play contest several times, was the following: It was the best middle school one act play that he had ever seen, the acting was brilliant, the maturity was well above their age group and beyond some high school performances. It was a performance filled with magnificence. He told the students that he couldn't find anything wrong with their performance and that he wished that he could have given EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM an award. He was speechless.
Congratulations go out to:
Gold medalist in acting, Anna McCorquodale
Silver medalist in acting, Kelly Schaefer-Flake
Bronze medalist in acting, Kaitlin Adams
Outstanding technician (Lights), Araceli Jaramillo
Other cast members: Alison Owens, Akshay Jotwani, Ria Agarwal, Cody Moffitt, Varun Bhatnager, Cooper Acord, Alex Hager, Evan Green, Maggie Miller, Elijah Blumofe, Sarah Garza, Jennifer Gaston, Jazmeion Alexander, Navid Canales, Aaron Rhodes, Kit Howard, Sarah Robinson (Stage Manager) and McKenzie Stribling (Sound).
Congratulations to everyone, Eric Porter, Theater Director.
--Congratulations! Lucio Calzada Jr., Ed.D.
--Congratulations, Mr. Porter and the cast/crew of Rivers & Ravines (lovingly referred to as "The Farm Show" wink . I'm not at all surprised to hear such an awesome review of the Fulmore One Act Play. I am so happy for all of you.
Congratulations, Cara Patterson, Fulmore Middle School Band.
--Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Patricia May, Teacher.
--I chaperoned the one-act play competition on Thursday, and I strongly urge everyone to catch this play! The performance was fantastic, absolutely on a different level than the other schools. The judge was so moved he was on the verge of tears. Sound, lighting, music, and staging; they have the look of a professional company. Robert Loewen, Teacher.
--The play was performed at college level. It was gripping! Gloria Obregon, Secretary.
