After traveling for years I have come across there most beautiful flower... and I wanted to show you... was all the boy could think. He kept thinking those words over and over as he laid in the pool of blood, as the rain kissed the bruises on his face. His arms pushed against the grass to get up, but they just stopped and laid back on the wet terrain. His body lost the desire to get up. He felt sick to his stomach. He thinks I am a freak...I am..aren't I... He still had the blue rose in his hand.
The night creeped in. Levi was walking through the fields when he saw his friend laying on the ground. He stared at him, not taking off his shades. "You told him didn't you..." No response. His friend turned away from him. "Well are you ok?" Levi tried to help him up, but he brushed him off. "I don't want your help.." "So I am guessing he said no." "Leave me here Elijah, please." "No David, I can't do that." Levi tried to help him up. This time he didn't fight it. "Come on, I'll take you home." Tears started falling from his eyes. "I thought he'd say yes..." "Well," Levi sighed, "You can't know everything about everyone...."
They walked home, with David's arm thrown over Levi’s shoulder. They got closer to the lights of David's apartment. He squeezed Levi's shoulder. "Please I don't want to go back home. Not tonight." Levi looked at his friend, "They'll ask where you are." "I don't care, please don't make me go." "Where do you plan to stay?" Levi shuddered, he could feel David looking at him. "Can I stay with you?" Levi nodded. They walked to Levi's house in silence.
Levi unlocked the door to his house and showed David his room. He walked in and sat on the floor leaning against the bed. "Thank you Elijah." Levi could feel that his friend was going to burst into tears. "Try not to think a bout it too much. Okay David. Now I am gonna get some stuff to clean you up."
Levi left the room, then came back realizing what he said, "Let me correct that...try not to think about him too much and wait while I get some stuff to clean you up. He stared at his friend sitting in the dark and then went off to get some alcohol. He went to his cabinet and pulled some out. He also got a towel and a warm cover. Levi sighed and walked back to David's room. He flipped the dim light on and threw the towel at him. "Here, go take a shower, you stink from staying in the grass all night. I'll but the alcohol on after you take a shower so it won't sting as much." Levi looked at his arm, remembering he still had the cover. He placed it on his bed.
David Went to the bathroom and took a hot shower. The steam clouded the area. He tried not to think about what happened. He pressed his eyelids shut to try to block the images out, but with closed eyes he saws his friend’s fists better. David could feel his eyes watering. I can't cry only fags cry... "And what does that make you?" He quickly looked in the mirror, across the room on the back of the closed door. It was his reflection with his arms folded. " "Shut up!" David yelled. "And why should I? You ruined our reputation...!"
Levi had his eyes closed, he was in meditation, but he felt something wasn't right. He quickly opened his eyes and went straight to the bathroom door. He knocked on it. David's reflection went back to normal. "Are you ok?" David picked up the soap scrubbing himself violently, crying, "I am fine Elijah." Levi didn't believe it, but he could only make something of what his friend told him. "Hurry up, ok, I need to clean those wounds." Levi sat indain style with his back to the door."
After about 15 minutes of hot water kissing David's skin, he came out looking like a prune. He stared at his reflection and laughed a little bit, then wrapped a towel around him. He opened the door only to have Levi fall backwards causing him to look up David’s towel. He turned bright red, and quickly jumped up to his feet. He socked David, "Go put some clothes on!" David laughed at him. "I didn't exactly bring any." "Oh, right, just borrow some of mine, there in the room in the dresser. Let me know when you're dressed. 'Till then I'll be in the kitchen." He walked in the opposite direction, then stopped and turned around toward David. "Do you want me to make you something?" He shook his head. "No thanks, I am not hungry."
David went to his room and closed the door. He let his feet feel the carpet. He exhaled loudly, then looked through Levi's clothes to get some pajamas for the night. He let his towel hit the floor and he tried on some clothes. When he finished throwing clothes together to make some thing, he went to the kitchen. He saw Levi cooking his favorite meal, meatloaf. "Hey Elijah," He said softly. Levi turned around. "Hey.. Sit on the couch, I'll be with you in a minute." David laid down on the couch. Levi out the meatloaf in the oven and set the timer. He brought the alcohol over with some bandages and kneeled in front of him.
"Thanks Elijah..." "Don't thank me, consider it my duty as a friend, that and the fact my parents are gone for the week." He put the Alcohol on a cotton swab. "Shirt off." David reluctantly took his shirt off showing Levi his slightly bruised body. Levi shook his head. "Well at least its not too bad." Levi pressed the swab on one of the wounds. "OW!" David yelled. "Don't be such a baby," Levi Laughed. He looked at David's Black eye. "He really did a number on you though." "I know..." that was all David could say. He tried to come up with words but he said nothing as Levi patched him up. "So, tell me happened." David's heart jumped. "Well, I....I.....," David's eyes started watering up, he tried not to look at Levi. Levi looked for his eyes, but every time they met up David shifted his direction. "...I don't want to talk about it Elijah, not tonight..." Levi nodded. "Ok then, just go to sleep and tell me when your ready," Levi got up, "Preferably in the morning." David walked to the room and laughed a little bit at Levi's statement. Levi set out a sleeping bag in the living room. David, glanced at Levi. "Good night Levi." Levi nodded. "Good night David, if you need anything feel free to come get me."
David closed his eyes, but he couldn't go to sleep. The images of the hours before kept him awake. He saw it play over and over in the dark that was in front of him. He quickly flipped on the lights and sat on the couch curled into a ball. He tried to slow his breathing. Tomorrow's going to be hell, he thought, But will all be ok...they have to be... David tried closing his eyes one more time. He felt two arms wrap around him from behind. They felt like Jason's. The arms that scorned him earlier, were now mentally comforting him now. Without opening his eyes, he felt for the light and turned it off.
David woke up to the smell of blueberry muffins, and eggs. Elijah's cooking... He put on his shirt and walked into the kitchen. Levi set a plate for him. "Good morning, David," Levi said as David sat facing the counter, "Did you sleep well?" He leaned his head into his hand. "Yeah, I guess so..." Levi turned back toward the stove to get the grits. "So, what happened last night?" David sighed. "You know the plan I had all worked out in my head?" David looked at his food, "Well Elijah...It didn't work." Levi put some grits on both their plates. "Well, part of it did. He finally know how you feel about him...at least you got that off your chest..." "I know Elijah, but I really wanted him to fill the same way." Levi started eating, "Why did he hit you David?" He stopped looking at Levi. Levi put his fork down. "Daaaaaavviiid..." "After I told him, he just stood there. He stared off into space, so I grabbed his face and kissed him." Davis was afraid Levi was about to say something, that he wasn't going to like. He was about to, actually, his mouth was open and he was ready, but then he picked up his fork and started eating again. Then it really hit Levi...he dropped his fork and stared at David. "You can't do stuff like that David! I mean you don't know even if he swings that way. I mean that was a big risk you took!" "Don't you think I know that Elijah! But I had to...." Levi just shook his head. "He could have killed you for that. He could have beaten you worse..." Levi stood their looking concerned for his friend. Then an obscure thought popped into Levi's mind. "Why did he stop hitting you?" "When he gave me a black eye. He looked in my eyes and ran away." "Interesting...." "What are you getting at Elijah?" "Not sure yet..." David rolled his eyes, "You lair, you are always sure." Levi looked at his watch. "Get dressed, we have to catch the bus in ten minutes." David jumped out his seat, "WHAT!? I am not going to school today! NO way in hell. "Well you can't stay here," Levi calmly stated, "My folks are coming back in today." David's heart sank, "Elijah please I can't go to school, I can't face him."
"Then don't. He probably needs time away from you anyway. He needs time for this all to sink in." "I know...but its weird, I really wanna see him." "Oh,you can," Levi said, "But only from a distance." "Hmmm..." "I am serious, if he didn't like what you did, he might fight you again. Exposing you to the whole school." "Ok, I'm ditching then." Levi laughed. "Do what you wish, but I still think you should come to school." David stood there looking at Levi, unaffected by his subliminal message trying to get him to go. Levi put on a smirk. "After all, don't you have Gym with Jason... you could see him change...." David turned red and left the room. In five minutes David was dressed ready to go. Levi laughed really hard. "I though you weren't going." David crossed his arms, "My Education is important to me." "Sure, it is." They both laughed their way to the bus stop.
While they where on the bus their conversation was light but then the bus stopped. David looked nervous, they were at school. "Elijah...," he stuttered, "What I am going to do?" "Just stay calm, and be distant from him." Levi warned. David looked down at the floor. "Ok Elijah.." They both got off the bus. "Well, class starts in couple of minutes....I gotta get going..." "Bye Elijah!" They both went off into there own directions as the bell rang.
David couldn't concentrate in his first hour class. His mind wandered from biology back to Jason. I hope I see him..., David thought,I really, really want to see him. I wonder if he'll be in gym class today. He started blushing. One of his class mates looked at him. "David, are you alright." "Yeah Bernice," replied turning more red, "I am fine." The following classes were all the same. He just couldn't concentrate, Jason was tattooed on his brain. He really wanted to see him, but at the same time he was terrified on what Jason could do to him. Then David slowly became paranoid. What if he told someone else....His heart almost stopped. He even jumped as the next bell rang. He quickly grabbed his notebook and ran out of the class. He tried not to looks suspicious, but he eyed everyone in the hall way. No one is staring me down....good, that's good. David sighed in relief. "Hey David!" a friend yelled out to him. HE jumped high in the air letting out a ridiculous scream. The people in the hall went silent, looking at him, then the burst into laughter. "Dude, calm down." It was his friend, Sheena. He pushed he hard, but playfully, "Don't do that, you scared the crap outta me!" "I know," she laughed, "What’s got you actin' goofy today?" "Nothing, nothing.." "Sure it isn't. Hey have you seen Elijah around?" "No, I just saw him when we got off the bus." "Ok, I'll see you both at lunch then.
xd
Lunch came and David went to the usual table with all of his friends. They all sat in a circle together. Sheena was sitting near Emery, holding hands with him. Levi was battling Chris in a game of cards. Michelle was drawing a picture of Chris and Levi, while Victoria was talking on the phone. David smiled, everything was normal. Before he could sit down, Vitoria and Sheena ran up to him and gave him a big hug. "Hey David." They chimed in unison. "What's up." the others said. "Nothing really guys just another boring day." "Tell me about it." Levi said. He dug into his pockets and grabbed some money. " I am gonna get some lunch and I'll be right back." "I'll go with you." Levi said getting up.
They both went to the lower floor and waited in the burger line. David kept looking over Levi's shoulder. This continued for five minutes and Levi yelled, "Dude what the hell are you staring at?" "Nothing, Elijah." Levi squinted his eyes, "He normally comes this way doesn't he." "...Yeah...you really stuck on him aren't you." David punched Levi's shoulder. "Shudda up man!" Levi smiled really big. "You're so annoying Elijah you know that!" David kept looking for Jason's beautiful dirty blond hair to come around the corner but it didn't. "What will you have?" David kept looking off into the lunch crowd. The voice repeated itself again, "What'll you have." He turned around angrily to see the lunch lady. "Oh, I'll take the cheese burger combo."
Levi and David walked back toward the table. "I think its soooo cute how you think about him." Levi said making a kissy face. "I hate you." "So did you tell everyone else how it when down last night?" David stopped walking, causing Levi to bump into him. "Hell no Elijah, why would I do that." "And why not." "Well for starters they don't really know about me yet..." "What?!" Levi sighed, you mean I am the only one who knows. I thought you would have told them by now." "I know Elijah but I can't right now." "How lame is that David, they're your friends just like me. Trust me they won't care." "Yeah sure... let's talk about this later." David walked quickly back towards the table, Levi following behind him.
Once David and Levi went back to the table, lunch resumed to its usual state. Emery was playing cards with Chris and Levi, Sheena was watching the three of them. Michelle kept drawing her pictures while the other girl, Victoria was comparing writing in her notebook. then Chris asked, "Hey David where were you last night, I tried to call you for the homework but your parents said you weren't there." "Oh I was at Levi's." "Oooooooo..." the whole table sang in unison. "Not like that," Levi protested. "So, then what for?" Sheena leaned over Emery smiling at him. "Family problems," David said, "That's all." David looked over at the clock and handed his cards to the dealer as the bell rang. "I'll see you after school David," Levi said, "Bye guys." Everyone got up hugged each other then left.
David sighed and went to his next class. Gym, He really didn't know how to feel about this class though. I wonder if I'll see Jason. he thought. So he quickly went to the locker room and changed in his usual spot. As he undressed he looked out of the corner of his eyes to see if his dirty blond crush was there. Dang it, he's not here, all there is, is a bunch of hot, sweaty, athletic... David lost his train of thought. "Hey dude." David jumped at his friends voice, "Uh, David you better hurry up, we're all heading out towards the gym. I swear, man, I sometimes wonder about you." David turned a little red. "Sorry man." He finished putting on his clothes and ran towards the gym.
"Alright squirts, the name of the game, is dodge ball." The class roared. Everyone loved this game. Normally David did too, but normally Jason there as well. He's avoiding me..., David's heart sank. I just know he is...ARGGGGGGGH! David saw a ball come flying towards his face. "OH SHI-..." was all he could get out before the world went black.
"Now what did I tell you?" Levi laughed as they got on the bus. "Forget you Elijah! I told you already, I wasn't thinking about him." "Rrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiight." Levi laughed even louder. "You suck you know that." "But at least I can play dodge ball." David folded his arms and sat back in his seat. Although he tried not to show it, he started laugh as well. "Oh but do your parents no yet." David turned and looked at Levi, "Hell, no. And if I ever want to stay a live I won't." "well, they are going to find out sooner or later." "Oh, how so." "When you start dating. I mean what if Jason returned your love, I mean, you couldn't take him back to your house, your parents know everything that goes on in there." "Yeah I know."
"I think the sooner you tell them the better." " Elijah that is easier said than done." Levi folded his arms. "I'll tell them when they're ready." "Don't you mean when you're ready?" David's face cringed, "Yeah." The bus came to it's first stop. "I gotta go David," Levi said, standing up, "But I'll talk to you tomorrow." "I'll call you tonight." "Ok." Levi got off the bus. David looked out of the window as it pulled off. He could see his friend getting smaller, and smaller. David closed his eyes and imagined himself dancing with Jason, until the bus came to his stop.
The walk home felt longer than normal. David exhaled loudly, watching his breath dance in the cold wind. He didn't want to go home just yet, so he walked to the park, where he made his confession. David stopped walking, when he saw that someone familiar was sitting on the bench. He walked slowly, trying to see if it was his Jason, but as he got closer, he saw the person take off their hat letting two long black pigtails fall. He smiled, relieved that it wasn't him. "Hey sis," David yelled. The person turned around and smiled at him. "Hey bro. I figured you come here. Where have you been?" He sat next to her on the park bench. "I was at school." "No duh stupid, I am talking about last night, we were all worried about you." "Oh, I was at Levi's." David expected her to ask more questions but she didn't she just nodded and smiled. "Ok let’s go home."
heart
When they got to the house. It was quite. David went to his room and started shuffling through his backpack and got his school work out. It was math. David grunted and started working out the problems. "So two divided by 18x plus 34 is..." When the problems got difficult David tried to solve it verbally. His sister walked into his room and sat on his bed. David put his pencil down and looked at her. "You didn't knock." "You know the parents are gonna freak out when they get home right?" "Yeah I know." "Why didn't you come home?" "Was studying and it got to late so I decided to stay at Levi's..." "Study?" His sister interrupted, "Now I know your lying." David laughed, "Shut up Doni!" She smiled, but still had a skeptical look on her face. "...but seriously David, Why didn't you come home and what's with the black eye?" David's heart jumped a little bit. He forgot about that. He was slightly annoyed be her questions but he knew she was prepping him for the parents. David turned his seat towards her. He wanted to tell her everything, he wanted to tell Doni so bad his heart hurt him as it pounded against his rib cage. But, I can't...not yet... David turned his seat around and went back to his desk. "I have to finish my work Jason. Get out." Doni looked left, then to her right and all around the room. "Jason, I don't see a Jason in here." Even though Doni couldn't see him, David was wide eyed. Crap! I said Jason! oh my GOD, Oh my GOD! "Doni you know what I meant, NOW GET OUT!" Doni stood up with her arms folded. "Fine then you meanie!" She got up and stormed out of the room. David turned back and yelled out the door, "You are too old to be using words like 'meanie' sis." She laughed out loud then yelled back, "Don't make me come back in there and pop you one."
David tried to get back to his work but he couldn't believe that he said that name in front Doni. He tightened his grip on the pencil. If she finds out, that could be it for me.... David shook his head, he really didn't want to think of what his parents would say if they found out. But knowing Doni she might look in last years yearbook and look for every Jason in there. David closed his eyes and tried to think of something pleasant, but all he could think about was how good Jason looked in his P.E clothes. But he wasn't here today....he was trying to avoid me... I know it....So much for trying to stay positive.. He got up from his desk and walked in the kitchen. It was mess, the dishes were everywhere. He grabbed the cordless phone and turned the sink on. He knew he should do or chore or two to get on the parent's good side when they got home. He called Levi and then started doing the dishes.
"Hello?" Levi said. "Hey Elijah! what's up?" "Nothing..." Levi said a little tired. "I am bored talk to me..." David said, trying to get his mind off of Jason. "Uh, well, are you gonna come hang out with me and the gang on Saturday?" David started scrubbing one of the dishes. "Yeah I don't see why not." David said absently. Levi laughed, "You're still thinking about him aren't you?" "Shut up Elijah!" Levi laughed louder. David looked around to make sure his siblings or his parents weren't in the room. Then he rolled his eyes. "Seriously Elijah. My sister is here. She could pick the other phone any minute." Levi sighed. "If you're that paranoid, just tell them and get it over with. I mean you only have to go through it once." "Easy said than done Elijah. I'll probably tell you guys first." "Do it as soon as possible, turst me you'll be happier." "Elijah, what would you do if you were in my situation...?" Levi took the phone from his ear and just looked at it. He thought about it then put the phone back to his ear. "Ok, I guess it's easy said than done." David rolled his eyes. "Tell me about it." "Tell me about what?" A female voice asked. David jumped at the sound of her voice. "Hey Elijah, I have to go, i'll call you back I gotta go." David hung up the phone.
"Hi mom." David said with a shakey voice. He was still freaked out about how quietly she sneaked into the room. She folded her arms and smiled. "Just cause you are doing the dishes dosen't mean you're not in trouble, but I do like the effort." David's mom sat at the kitchen as his Dad joined in and looked at him. The light dimly hung over their faces. "Have a seat." His Dad said in a stern tone. David knew better then to exhale loudly, or mutter anything so he dried off his hands and sat down. It was akward, the first few minutes they sat in silence. Doni walked passed, saw David and walked back to her room. "So how was your guys day..." David asked. "Where were you last night David?" His father started the interrogation. "I..I was at a Levi's house." "Why were you at his house." His mom asked. "I was studying and I just lost track of time, so I decided to stay there." "What happened to your eye?" David leaned back in his chair, "Dodge ball, I wasn't paying attention." His mom put her hands on the table and looked at him, trying to be the lie detector to see if he was telling the truth. Fortunatly she didn't give him a full read this time. His Dad sighed and stood up. "Don't you do that again son. You really had us worried." "Yes sir." His Dad left and david started to get up. "Sit down." His mom said. David stopped in mid walk and sat back down. "Who hit you David?" Davids hands started shaking, he quickly put them under the table.Dang it! "No one Mom, what makes you think that?" "A dodgeball wouldn't leave a mark like that." David just looked at his Mom trying to think of a good answer. "Fine David," she said standing up, "If you don't want to tell me, you don't have to, but remeber I can't help you unless you ask for it. But your a big boy now, I guess you can handel it." She left, gently running her hand on his shoulder, the table.
David was restless that night. Everytime he closed his eyes He saw Jason walking up to him, trying to kiss him, but when he got close his parents were there. It freaked David out to no end. If they ever found out, his life would be over. His heart went to the back of his stomach the more he thought about it. He didn't want to close his eyes, instead he just stared at the ceiling. The door of his room door opened and figure sat at his bed, rubbing his leg. David sat up, quickly and saw Jasons. He let his eyes trace his body, his heart boxers, then David's eye met up with Jason's deep blue eyes. David just gazed in them for a while. He let his heart melt. Then David shook his head. "How'd you get he....." Jason's finger pressed against David's lips. His heart was pounding. Jason got closer to David. Jason got under the covers with David and wrapped his arms around him. David leaned in to kiss him but once he did he found himself in bed by himself. A dream...Damn it! David thought with watery eyes, hugging his pillow.
The next day, David tried to go back to to his normal routine. He took a shower, ate breakfast, said good bye to his folks and headed to his bus. He met Levi on the bus and went to school. David still couldn't stop thinking about him. Please GOD, let me see just him once today. Class was the same. David took notes, the dozed off, then took more notes. He found himself constantly looking at the clock. When the bell rang David quickly left the class and looked in the hall ways for him. He knew he shouldn't be but he couldn't help it. He didn't want to anyway. David walked passed Levi. "David I'm right here." David smiled and turned around to see Levi. "Oh, hi Elijah." "What kind of a greeting is that?" David walked up to him. "I thoguht you were someone else." Levi shook his head, "You're really stuck on him aren't you?" "I am sorry I just can't help it, I had a dream about him last night." "You are only gonna make yourself upset if you keep givng him all of your thoughts. Try not to think about him."
When David head back to his next class, he tried not to think about him. He opened the door to his class and right before he walked in, he felt someone looking at him. He turned to the crowd of students to meet hard blue eyes staring at him. Jason! Jason quickly ducked into another hall. David shook his head and walked into class. He really is avoiding me. David just sat in class staring at the bored. His mind was shot. He tried to write notes but every time he tried to he wrote down 'Jason'. He put his notebook in back pack and waited till class was over.
When lunch time came around, David didn't look for him. He quickly went through the lunch line and sat down with his friends. He just stared at his food, he lost his appitite. He wanted to talk to someone. He looked around for Levi. "Hey guys? where's Elijah?" Sheena looked at her frowning friend. "I Think he is still studying withe Chris for their test next hour." "Oh," David said sinking back in his seat. "Hey what's wrong?" Emery asked. "Nothing, just stressed." "You wanna talk?" Victora chimed in. "Maybe later..." "Ok then," they all said. David wanted to tell them but he wasn't sure how or when.
After lunch the day continued to be slow. David didn't fell like being there. He just wanted to confront Jason, he wanted to explain why he did. How is love started, but he didn't know how he was going to do it. Gym came and passed Jason avoided all contact with him. Nothing unexpected. Once School ened He made his way to the bus and met up with Levi. "Hey Elijah, where were you today during lunch?" "With Chris. Emery said you were down. So what's up?" "I saw Jason today." Levi looked at David concered. "Are you ok? What did he say? What did you do?" David sighed. "Nothing, he looked at me from down the hall then moved as far away from me as he could." "I am sorry David." "Me too," David was about to get on the bus when he saw Jason walking up to his car, "Hey Elijah, I'll talk to you later." Levi looked in the direction that David was, he also saw Jason. "David wait , are you sure.." He was too late, so he got on the bus as David walked up to the blue honda.
David quickly walked towards Jason. They locked eyes. "Hey." was all that David could get out. "Hey, David." Jason said turning towards the car. "Jason I need to talk to you." David's heart was geting faster and faster. "I don't want to talk to you David." David expected him to say that, but it still hurt. David grabbed Jason's jacket. Jason quickly knocked his hand off facing him angrly. "Don't touch me."
domokun
David looked down at the pavement. He knew shouldn't have done that. Jason stared at him. David's eyes got a little glassy, he want to look at him. Jason put his car keys in his pocket and leaned against his car. "What do you have to tell me David," He said with an apethtic tone. David lifted his head to meet Jason's eyes. Jason turned his head away looking past him. "I...I just want to tell you why I felt the way I do about you." Jason scrunched his eyebrow and look at a David. "It was in the hall, when you first..." "Look," Jason inturrpeted uncomfortably, "I don't like you David, not like that, I'm just not a f**, ok get it through you head ok." David pulled out his keys and got in to his car. David just looked at the care not saying anything. Jason looked at David through his window, and drove off. David just stared where Jason was supposed to be. He closed his eyes. When you first walked past my locker, you knew I was having bad day, and you made it a point to smile at me and tell me things would get better. It was the most beautiful smile in the world. Then when you walked away, I couldn't stop looking at you, the way you walked was amazing. David opened his eyes and still nothing was there, just a parking lot. He sighed and started to walk home.
As David walked his thoughts began to pick at him. "Did you hear that David...he called you a f**." David tried to ignore it but his thoughts kept pressing on. "David, oh David, hey f** boy." "Shut up." David said aloud trying to clear his mind. "I am sorry I doesn't listen to faggots, David." David walked into the park, looking a birds flying in the air. He walked slower now looking at the green trees and people playing catch with their dogs. David felt a little more at ease. "Did you hear the way he said it David. f**. he said with with such disgust. He's disgusted with you. David, you disgust him to his very heart." David crinched at that last part. He placed his hand on his heart and started walking home quickly, he didn't want to break down, at least not here in the park.
Even though his thoughts didn't antigonize him for the rest of the trip. Daivd felt like it was going to take for ever to get home. the words of his mind burned a hole into his heart. This fifteen minute walk was going to take a century.
When David came home, he opened the door and walked past everyone, and went straight into his room. He locked the door. David just stood there for a couple minutes looking out of the window. He slowly started to sink to the floor and when he got there, his eyes became watery and he started to cry. Though he didn't want to get up he tried and his mind became dizzy. He knew that Jason would reject him... But Damn....David didn't think that his rejection was going to hurt that much and he didn't know that he'd be rejected that way. There was a knock on the door. "David," Doni said quitely, "Are you ok little bro, I hear you crying." David's eye flickered with water. "Now's not a good time sis, go away." Doni just stared at the plain white door infront of her, and sighed. "David if you don't open this door." "Go away!" David yelled with a hoarse voice, "Please sis, just leave me alone." "Well ok David, if you need me I'll be in the living room." Doni walked away and sat on the couch as she listen to her brother countine to sob in the next room.
As he sat on his knees hunched over, his thoughts started taking turns for the worst, the kept picking at him, antigonizing him. "You are digusting." The tears continues to stream down his face. "What if he were to tell the school, David, you'd be an outcast. What if your parents found out what you were?" David could feel something coming up this throat. He unlocked his room door and ran into the bathroom. His sister stood up as he ran past her and slam the bathroom door shut. He put his face over the toilet, and started throwing up. Doni wasn't in the mood for waiting anymore. She busted the door open, she paused for a quick moment as she saw her brother kneeling on the tiled floor, vomiting violently. She snapped out of her trance and instantly ran to her brother's side rubbing his back. When he stopped he flushed the toilet and fell back on the side of bathtub. David tried not to look at his sister, he wanted to hide. However Doni knew her brother too well, she could see something was troubling him, through his red, watery eyes. She hugged him tightly. "David, what's wrong?" He wrapped his arms around her and dug his face into her shirt. He started crying again. David opened his mouth, " I...I'm...," but noting else came out. God, why....why can't I say it. David stay burrowed in the shirt of his sister. "Man.....what is goin' on with you, baby bro." Doni said quietly as she rubbed his head, getting a little teary-eyed herself.
David stayed locked up in his room for the rest of the day. He sat up in his bed with tissues by his side and trash can. And that's how he was even when the evening set in. Doni found herself sitting on the couch again, with tv on quietly. She really wasn't listening to it anyway, but she didn't want David to feel that she was trying to invade his privacy. She was trying to give him distance, but lord knows if he starts up again I'll be right there... Doni thought. Eventualy the night set in and the parents came home. David could here their voices through the door. "Hey sweety!" His mom said , talkng to Doni, how are you?" "I'm alright mom," She said calmly. "Hey Doni, do you know where David is?" "He's in his room sleeping Dad. He was really tired today." "Ok, he said, well I brought some food home if you guys want some it'll be on the table waiting for ya." "Ok thanks Dad." "No problem." As their parents left to their room, Doni went close to her brother's door. He wasn't crying anymore, but he was still sniffly. She started to nock but decided to do something better. Doni walked back into her room, and pulled David's yearbook from under her bed. She had taken it to find out who Jason was, when David accidently said in last conversation, but as it turns out there were 37 of them so she didn't find it. Doni flipped to the back of the book and looked at all of the signatures and comments people left in David's yearbook. "Got it." she said to herself as he finger stood firmly on Levi's name and phone number. She quickly went to the kitchen and picked up the phone and called Levi.
"Hello..." said a weary voice on the other line. "Hey Levi...it's Doni." "Oh, oh, Hey Doni, how are you?" "I'm Ok but i am afraid David isn't doing to well." Levi's voice sounded more alert. "Why what going, on? Did anything happen to him?" Doni sighed, "Well Levi I'm not sure, when he came home today, he locked himself in his room and started crying, and when he finally came out," Doni paused, she could tell she was geting to loud, she didn't David to hear her or the parents, "Levi when he finally came out of his room, he ran into the bathroom and started throwin' up. Did somethin' happen at school? I mean, what made him so upset?" Levi said nothing for little while, he was putting two and two together, then it hit him. "Aww, s**t..." was all Levi said. "s**t. Levi what the hell does that mean?" "Doni, can I talk to David?" Doni rolled her eyes, "No, he doesn't even know I am talking to you." She heard Levi breath out loudly on the other end of the phone. "Ok, then I'll come by in the morning. Thanks Doni, bye." "Wait, wait.....," the phone went to a dail tone, "Dang it." Doni said. That night no one slept well. David, who finally stopped crying, just stared at the door wondring why God made him this way. Doni was sitting at the desk in her room looking out of the window, trying to get into the mind of her brother. Levi was sitting on stool in his family's apartment, staring into the kitchen, trying to figure out what happened between Jason and David. And for three of them, the night was going to last for a long time.
