The music blared and lights flashed, coloring the fog the was pumped from a machine set on the stage. The party had only just started when the club-drugies had come out and were buying Ecstasy and Date-Rape... 'Another reason,' Jess thought 'Why I never eat or drink at these things...' A bunch of teens stumbled by, looking drunk... "Only 11 and the drunkies are already at it..." She watched the collage students as they continued across the dance floor. In a dark corner there was a couple making out, and behind one of the speakers were a couple of people puffing cancer sticks. "He~y bab-eh... wuz go'in o' wit'chu?" One of the drunkies had stumbled into her corner of the club. He wore a vest, no shirt, a pair of baggy jeans and blue boxers. Jess looked at him saying nothing. She noticed he wasn't really looking at her eyes. "Eh heh heh heh heh... Howzabout we get aroom'r somthin' babeh..." The stupid smile on his face made her impulse to smack him greater. Instead she just looked at him, eyes cold, arms crossed. "Don' be col' babeh... You... know you lak dis..." He swayed violently, catching his balance at the last minute... "Go die in a hole, damn drunk..." Jess murmured turning and walking away as another chorus of "Don' be col' babeh, Don' be col'" Rang out behind her. Rolling her eyes she left the club.
She walked about a block, the cold nipping at her bare arms and cheeks, before drawing her phone and flipping it open. "We have a no show-- Over," Jess said into the speaker. "Name please?" The computer asked. "Jessica Balfer," Jess spoke clearly into the speaker. "Agent number?" "Agent number 24-52," "Please hold--" Some of the elevator music played in her ear. "Agent 12-24, Period 3--" A womens voice spoke... "Hey Maggie, Copper's a no-show..." Jess said, tone softening slightly. "Aw, you're kidding..." Maggie said, sounding disappointed. "No... He ditched... I've been waiting a full 30 minutes exactly where I was told to... kept getting harassed by drunks so I ditched..." Jess muttered. "Aw, well that's sucks... Oh, Christ... Listen, Chro, I'll talk to you later... boss just walked in... See ya--" Maggie hung up the phone. Jess sighed, closing the flip phone and replacing it in her pocket. Again she started down the street, her breath Crystallizing infront of her. (Cont. Sorry, I'm really tired right now..)
