Tie a tie around his neck Put a hat upon his head Make him mine forever Until we are both dead
He doesn't have to be a gentlemen He doesn't have to be really smart He doesn't have to have lots of money Or watch me in the night
He does need to be polite And give me lots of hugs I'll kiss you when I'm ready But it's ok to steal sometimes
He has to except the little quirks That will never be worked out of me He has to be able to laugh At the stupidest things
He has to appreciate art Or at least pretend pretend he does He must be able to smile in a graveyard And laugh with those who are dead
Talk with me when your sad And let me talk to you Not only when I'm lonely But when I'm happy too
Let me pay the bill sometimes And let me give you gifts And let me overwork myself Just a little bit
Don't give me lots of presents That doesn't mean don't give me none Let me make you happy Until every day is done
I don't mind if you yell If not directly at me I'm a real good listener And I'd like it if you'd listen to me
So tie a tie around his neck And bring not one top hat but two We'll be happy together Just me and you
