This all started last night and continued into today. Two guys, nameless and faceless, have been inside my head arguing about lord knows what. They kept spitting dialogue back and forth, and this is basically what I got out of it. Enjoy?
One guy's parts are bolded; the other guy's parts are normal.
"How could you...let her go like that?"
"I have no idea what you're talking ab--"
"Don't lie to me. You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about."
"Well, what do you want me to do, huh?! I don't even know where she is--not one single clue!"
"So you're not even going to try." A statement. Questions were pointless now.
"I didn't say--"
"You didn't have to. It's dripping from your voice. It's written all over your face. It's clouding your eyes. You've given up."
Hesitance. "...Wouldn't you...?"
"That doesn't concern you; after all, this isn't about me, is it?"
He silently collapsed, palms open, pressing upon the ground. His face rested in shadow, hidden by thick, long tresses. Squinting his bright eyes shut, he squeezed out numerous oncoming tears. His entire being trembled, causing each breath he took to quake. "I'm so frightened..."
A platformed boot kicked dust into the other's face. "I give you no pity. You brought this upon yourself." Such bitterness...quite a sharp tongue.
The trembling worsened as he coughed out quiet sobs.
"What's more, you hurt the one who loves you most in this world. That, sir, is unforgivable."
A stifled cry echoed through the momentary silence.
"She gave you everything. She sacrificed her entire existence for you...and still you did nothing, showed nothing. Even as she said goodbye, you couldn't spare her a word, or even a glance? Does any of this matter to you? Does she matter to you?"
He could only allow his pathetic cries and whimpers escape past his lips, choking on his sobs. He pressed his fist to his heart, feeling no heartbeat.
"She has no heart, just like you...and yet, she still loves you. Why she does, I'll never know. After all you put her through...after all the pain you inflicted upon her...disgraceful." He spat at the other, the saliva landing not two inches from the other's bowed head.
His muscles tensed as mustered just enough strength to push himself up. He slowly rose to his feet, swaying slightly, still shaking with sobs. His pale cheeks glistened with trails of fresh tears. Anger burned within his glowing irises like a untame wildfire. "Shut...the hell...up."
"You're absolutely pathetic," he scoffed, turning to walk away.
"Maybe I am pathetic...I don't need to you to tell me that." He steadied himself, standing to his full height. "I'm leaving."
"Where are you going to go?" he asked in a mocking voice, chuckling lightly.
"I'm going to find her...even if it kills me. Good day." With that, he disappeared into the darkness.
"It's about time...you need her just as much as she needs you," he whispered, vanishing into the shadows.
