SSDD
So I wanted to get my package at the post office today that my sister sent me for my birthday but noooo, my landlord has to decide today is the day that he finally wants to fix the toilet after three years of us asking him. I'd love to complain more, specifically him pulling out one of the bathroom wall tiles in his claim that its rotting and somehow thats MY fault. Apparently its also my fault he spends $200 a month for the water bill so we must be running the shower or dishwasher all damn day. I told him if he just fixed the toilets his water bill would decrease dramatically. I have never even used the dishwasher since I've lived here.
Then there is work which is actually more sane than me being at home. They just opened up this new restaurant However they have no employee lockers and I am not allowed to have a wallet on me so I have to figure out how to bring my keys and bus money somehow without it being a wallet. I had training all week and supposedly we were to be tested on Friday but other than the role play of serving we really didn't take any test so maybe that WAS the test. So after everything, when we are all ready to leave THATS when they take the staff picture. When everyone looks like s**t, is tired, and all the girls frantically put on lipstick before the shot. I like the job, there was sooo much stuff to memorize and remember but I still feel like with the amount of things I had to study, some not having a thing to do with cashier/host work min wage still bothers me. Why do I need to know the ingrediants of the potato pancakes if I am not the cook? Why do I need to know that the only omelette that has sauce is the country omlette if I am not the waiter?
My position is Cashier/host and that is a lot by itself. I take care of bakery, cashier, seating, cleaning, bathroom, takeout, phone orders, pouring drinks for the customers when the servers are swamped all for min wage. I am caught between wanting really to do a great job and being uncertain about my pay but for now it is something. If it doesnt work out I can get any other job for Min wage and not have to do half as much as I have to here.
