Heart of the Matter
From those loved ones daily seen,
And those who are far away,
That love grows bright and brighter still,
Moreso than the brightest day.
Their affection is boundless, wild and free,
It twists, it turns, and intertwines,
It's as overwhelming as the see,
And all but captured in these lines.
A darkness falls from time to time,
Causing grief and partial misery,
A sinking feeling of heart and mind,
When words and actions become artillery.
Harsher words could be shot, harsher actions done,
But family pushes through and through,
Cause harsher battles have been won,
And much stronger storms have blew.
The love from family and friends as well,
Can conquer all the fear and strife,
But looming in their hearts, a darkness spell,
Which will arise throughout their life.
