Specifically, a rant about my nose, and the reason I can't breathe through it.
So. I've got a cold. And I'm trying to not share it with anyone. Because no matter what they told you in kindergarten, sometimes sharing ISN'T nice.
Now, I'm a college student. So, my mommy isn't around to buy me my cold medicine anymore. I have to do it all by myself. *tear*
Before they left me at college, my mother told me that if I needed to buy Sudafed, that I needed to get the kind with pseudoephedrine in it, because it works the best. But, in America, you can't buy anything with pseudoephedrine in it without getting it from a pharmacist. They don't keep it on the shelf anymore. Because apparently idiots have figured out how to turn that drug into methamphetamines. I hate people like that.
Anyways, I go to Walgreens today, knowing that I'm going to have to jump through hoops to get it, but that I'll feel better once I've taken a decongestant. I take the little Sudafed card to the counter, and the lady asks if she can see my driver's license. Yes, you get carded when you buy decongestants, I guess.
I gave it to her, and she looked at it for a second, and then dropped the bombshell.
"I'm sorry," she says. "We can't sell you anything, because you're not eighteen yet."
OH. MY. EVER. LOVING. GOD. So, as long as I'm under eighteen, they don't care about my health? Or is it that only people who are under eighteen do drugs?
THIS IS AGE-ISM, IT IS. I'M GOING TO STAGE A PROTEST.
