I wrote this last night, and, no, it's not about me. It doesn't have a title yet. It's part of a story I'm gonna write. So here it is:
Chapter 1
The rain outside pounded hard on the roof. I could here the wind as it roared loudly, rustling leaves on trees. Thunder boomed somewhere off in the distance. The occasional flash of lightning would come into my room through the windows, so that I could make out the fuzzy outline of my old, one-eared cat, Puffball Dickens.
I stared up at the ceiling, which could have been two feet in front of me, and I still wouldn't have seen it. There was no moon outside, nor any lights on in the house. It was utterly and completely dark, except for when the blessed lightning appeared, saving me from my temporary night-blindness.
It was a scary thought, not being able to see anything. In fact, it seemed as if none of my senses worked, except for touch (and of course, hearing). I could feel ol' Puffball against my leg, which I found slightly comforting, but only slightly.
At last, I could take it no longer. I dashed out of bed and turned on the light. Relief flooded within me as the room became visable. I hated these stormy, moonless nights. I could never sleep through them. As I stroked Puffball, I had to admit something to myself.
I, Fable Poem Story (yes, my parents joke-named me), was absolutely terrified of the dark.

There's gonna be more to chapter 1, but this is just what I have so far. What do ya think?
