Liam was just an ordinary 15 year old guy - at least he was before the war. He was pretty good at sports and decent grades in school. He wasn't super popular like Matt, but wasn't invisible either. He was your average kid. He was an only child, with parents that are never home and only his dog to keep him company. Even when his parents are home, they treat him like a little kid so he can never have his friends over or go to a party after school, or anything like that. And if you must know, his dog's name is Sandy.
