To respond to someone else who posted a news report from CBS. A CBS reporter did a report on the Emo subculture, and they included MCR lyrics, pictures, and songs. We all know MCR isn't emo, and I'm sure if we got enough people to tell them that, they'd start to realize their faults. Click here to find contact info, and tell tell them MCR isn't emo, and that they have no idea about what emo is at all. As good as an idea this is, they might realize their faults but not do much about it.

what's the point?
honestly, tons of people have done it. and they don't actually CARE what we think, as sad as it is :"D
on livejournal some girl posted her response from them and it was basically just like "thanks bye"
it's just something we should roll our eyes at and get over it
my chemical romance has had the stereotype of emo for AGES, and even though they're not, many people think of them as emo. so if they put them in a news report about 'emo', some people might be like "yeahhhhhhhh i've heard of them," since they're so big
it's stupid, i know, but if they dont care, what can we do?

^^ I agree. Many people have already sent in letters and s**t to these TV stations, but it did no good. 'Emo' has lost its meaning entirely. Anything even remotely dark, say black clothing can be labeled as 'emo'. It is one of the most ignorant way to stereo type others. The fact is, people seem to judge MCR on the surface meaning of their apperance and songs, and never seem to get the whole picture. You just have to ignore the ignorancy of the media and simply keep on listening to the music. I just roll my eyes at these poorly researched 'emo' reports who take the things that are suppose to be a JOKE and twist into something else. opinions are opinions. and at least they said that they shouldn't be too worried if their kid is emo cause they may not be so deep that they cut themselves. I know I don't. I draw my feelings. But I hate the stereotypes they're not right and some of what they said was not right at all.

The ABC report is funnier than the CBS one, but they're both so funny with how they overreact. They freak out more because they didn't know about it for so long. They'll move on to other, "scarier" things later. Just ignore them.

I don't see why you are bothering
I have complained to so many newspapers on various issues
so much so it's making me feel old.
However you never get a reply and nothing gets done.
And why...because honestly they don't give a ******** media is manipulative it likes ti scare monger people
and make them abide by there idea's
Also, I have been watching CBS and fox news latley and...damn
if I were you...I wouldn't even bother watching it.
They are more chatty bull s**t shows then the news.
seriously I turned it on once and it said 'a boy has dissappeared at bear lake, the area is known to have a high bear population. The boy went missing while getting cookies...no one has any idea's hwhat has happened to him'
Anyone consider a bear got him...I mean I know British news
is like mildly apocolyptic...but if a kid got bear nabbed
they would most likely say.
(hah this country has no sence of decorum xD)

Well if we don't tell them to stop it could get worse. The last thing I want is more bashings from more people. I think we should totally stand up for MCR.
