So this has probably been said before, and I'm sorry for my lack of responses to this guild. But... A little while ago I was listening to disenchanted, which is supposidly about the fight, ect. with The Used and Mcr or something or the sort.
"Well I was there on the day they sold the cause for the queen..."
For the longest time I was thinking stuff like the queen of england, and I even heard something about the three musketeers. Then I thought: "Wait, the entire fight started with the huricane catrina benifit thing, with the song under pressure, where Burt wanted to use the profits on his own Cd as a demo or whatever." Under Pressure was a Queen Song! OH Em GEE.
The Used...sold the Cause (Katrina) For the Queen (Song)! Bwuahahah!
Just my thoughts on the matter. I'm probably wrong.
Any retort?

Wow. That really makes sense... I never thought of it that way. I was thinking the Queen Of England.
Now I have to re-listen to it and think of the words in that way.

I never thought of it that way either. But that could be true. I didn't know that Disenchanted was about the fight with The Used. I always thought of it like a song about the Queen and how the she was killed during the Revolution.
"I was there on the day they sold the cause for the queen."
And they killed her using a guillotine. [sp?]
"Bring out the old guillotine...."
Well, I don't know much, so don't argue with me. I need to brush up more on my History. D:

It could be that too... I was just always under the impression that it was about the end of thier friendship and their feud and stuff, at least that's what I heard from several resources.

That makes alot of sence, I have the odd ability to hear lyrics wrong for a while, but the queen of england is a good second guess.

Actually, it's the Queen of France that was killed using the guillotine, during the French Revolution. That's why France today isn't run by monarchy. But England is.
Not to sound like a smart b***h or anything.... D: Just clearing things up...

the meaning of that song always struck me as how bands have sold out so much these days to make themselfs big for a while. the queen seemed to stand for the music industry to me. but that's just my veiw of the song

Any retort? I didn't know Disenchanted was supposedly about MCR and The Used. But what you said makes sense. And even if it's not about that, I still never would have thought of it anyway.
Great job reading into it.
Now I have to listen to the song over and over and think it through.

I always thought the lyrics read "sold the cars for the queen" like the queen was buying a bunch of nice cars
and that the narrator of the song was a child saying that he was at his father's work when he sold cars to the queen and that his family went home that night to watch the news
"and when the lights all went out we watched our lives on the screen"
I her this 'cause he says
"so I can watch all my heroes sell a car on TV"
therefore showing that he thinks of his dad as a hero and refering to the night that they watched the news where the sold the cars to the queen....IDK....
I always thought the song was about how he thought his life was great as a child, but now that he's older, he sees that he was living in destitution.
