I'm working on a story where the main character is a transvestite. He has all the essentials that make him a boy, he just has long hair, make-up, and a pretty dress. He falls for another guy and after some chaos and confusion they wind up together.

I just thought that my fellow Yaoi fanatics could tell me with certainty whether this still qualifies as yaoi. I mean, I'm pretty sure it does, but I'm just double checking.

It does for the most part in my opinion. Though it really is more up to you, the author or authoress... Either way I personally think it should count more or less.

You obviously don't read enough, I've read that sort of thing hundreds of times. razz Definitely BL. I mean... he still has all the bits required to be a male which, to the best of my knowledge, is the only qualification required to be a part of a Boy/Boy pairing.

Crossdresser or not, it's still a boy. Boy + Boy = Yaoi

Had you said he was transgendered on the other hand and felt that he was a girl, I wouldn't count it as yaoi.

And yes, topics tend to get moved when they're in the wrong place. Reading the constitution generally clears up the posting what wear issue as well as other handy rules that keep you from getting in trouble.
