Is it unusual for a goth to want to participate in sports?
The reason I'm asking is because my father convinced me to try football (american) next year in highschool.
Does anyone here play sports?

The goth cultures existence is completely independent of sports, so whether or not one is goth has no affect on whether or not one plays sports.
I've always liked playing sports myself. I've only ever played in backyard, pick-up, and intramural teams, but I commonly play basketball, football, lacrosse, and cricket. I also play a lot of badminton and ping-pong (table tennis), though, many people for some reason refuse to believe either is a sport.

I'm doing track and I swim alot.
Its really fun and I love the high I get from it.
YAY endorphins.

Hell, maybe even with those stilts platforms. But the point I was making was unusual, not hard.

I do martial arts, Mantis Kung Fu to be more spacific. I dont see why you cant do sports just becasue of the subculture people associate you with.

hmm ok.
I figured it would be looked down by goth's because sports are mainstream, and lots (not all) jocks pick on them, and for some, are violent. People have told me goths are leftist hippies, which leftist hippies and goths do share common ground. I figured since (some) sports are violent, and that leftist hippies are normally non violence. Well you get the point.
Although, I am pro-sports. I figured sports would be positive influence because they are agressive. They might releive stress put on by todays society. Its like video games on how they help with stress and anger.

My post is rather pointless as of now, but one more vote yes couldn't hurt. Too bad it's coming from a bit of a hypocrate. I can't play sports for beans, my stamina sucks and my arms are mainly dead weight. And I'm afraid of projectile spherical objects. I was hit with the volleyball in the face way too much. And then that time when the gym teacher kicked the soccerball really hard and it impacted my organs . . . I have many stories but I don't feel like ranting too much.
((Dude I have 4 inch platform boots, and I'm a bit stumbly in them. How do people walk in that big of platform boots? [or pick up a pencil that fell on the floor?] Maybe I'm just way too clumbsy for large platforms.))

i play volleyball..i used to play hockey..
i've always loved rock climbing and i enjoy a good pick up baskebtall game...
nothing againts playing sports and being goth...well except maybe the sweat stains on black razz
