I was watching TNG and Data asked Worf to take care of Spot:

"You must feed him; he prefers feline supplement. And he requires water. And you must talk to him, tell him he is a pretty cat..."

"I will feed him." says Worf

ROFL..."Tell him he is a pretty cat" Rofl rofl

It turned out Spot was a she. xd She later had kittens.

Ode to Spot

Felis Cattus, is your taxonomic nomenclature,
an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature?
Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses
contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses.

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
a singular development of cat communications
that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection.

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion,
it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

O Spot, the complex levels of behaviour you display
connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

    Lol
I think its cute that worf refuses to pamper spot.
Awwhh.. I bet Klingons are just a bunch of softies really
    But yeah, spot rules.
    OMG.
    Spot visited me today.
This cat looked just like her!

...I'm just a huge manatee

XD Oh, that's hilarious. When I get another cat I'm gonna be tempted to name it spot now XP

But I'm thinking they should've kept the same cat and gender of it throughout the whole thing XD

The first time I saw that episode,
I couldn't hear Data's response, "That should be sufficient", since
I went into a hysterical fit of laughter when Worf answered him.

As a side-note,
it occurred to me one day that cats are EXOTHERMIC, not ENDOTHERMIC,
which is a mistake in the poem.

Exotherms, like all warm-blooded creatures, give off heat.
Cats give off heat. Just leave one on your lap in Summer-you'll notice.
An endotherm would take in heat, which would mean they would
feel COOL (they'd draw heat away from you.)
