Has anyone ever thought of godchild / Cain Saga as a yaoi (mainly Cain & Riff(manservent))
I only ask because when I was reading it (every time) it just seems that it's there but not

Oh, it's definitely there. I think it's just Kaori Yuki's subtle ways, but it's pretty obvious that Cain and Riff either are or have high potential to be an item. Heh...notice how every girl that Cain ever loves (besides Mary Weather) always dies? I think it's a sign. xd I am completely in love with this series and it's art. And RiffxCain is now one of my all-time favorite pairings. That's saying a lot.

It's good to know someone else agrees with me but I was reading the artist comments and she said she isn't completle comftrble with writeing homosecuality but I think it's her sub-conjes that is makeing her write this way but I do love it all xd

Currently reading both, and i can definately see potential. I doubt anything would happen in the actual series' but the chemistry between Cain and Riff is pretty obvious. Its so cute!

I've seen some pretty hintful pictures... I am sure there's something there. I mean sure Cain flirts with women sometimes, but he doesn't really do anything more than that. It's almost like a cover *grin* I really need to get the Cain saga though to add to my Godchild.

This is my favourite series ever apart from Tarot Cafe. I've only read the first three volumes 'cos my library sucks, but I adore it anyways.
It does interest me that Kaori Yuki seems to like giving characters almost-biblical names. Cain is obviously straight out of the Bible, but both Jizabel and Riffael are slightly off from their biblical origins (Jezebel and Raphael, respectively).
Also, "Jezebel" apparently means "whore". Hmm.

i can so totally see yaoi for the story my favourite pairings for the sereis are heart Cain x Riff heart and heart Jazebal x Cassian heart xd whee

I'm kinda torn on this pairing. On one hand, it's definately hot, no doubt about it. And there's no denying all the suggestiveness of certain lines and pictures. Part of me really, really likes them as a slash pairing.
On the other hand there's something about their relationship that almost seems too pure to define it as yaoi. It's obvious that they care about each other more than anything else in the world. They're more than soul mates, they can't survive without eachother. It seems to me that anything sexual would almost cheapen that amazing bond that they share.
It really is a delema, but there's still the other yummy men to play with ^^

yeah the story does seem yaoi...but i heard...which will probably contradict everything you say...cain actually likes his sister...not just like but love...the love love...at least i think so...but it's still cute how he may be yaoi....he's hot...
might sound gay coming from this avatar...but i'm a girl...not a guy...
not saying anything about gays either....
it's cool with me...

I thought the same things from the first volume. Also at the end of the series, Cain and Riff die togother...*fantasies at what happens behind the seens* anyways, there is a bit of 'unknown'(think thats what I'm looking for) yaoi.
as for cain loveloving his sister I read somewhere that their bond is nothing more than a normal brotherxsister relationship... unless Miss Yuki-san was talking about an angel sancuary relationship...
But, the relationship between Cain and Riff, is understandable (Riff only one around when Cain was being abused by his father), I just wish there was some action between the two. cry

It really is a delema, but there's still the other yummy men to play with ^^ I feel the same way :O I love them as a slash pairing, they get so many great slash moments and yeah, its hot (the fact that the master/servant cliche has always been one of my favorites only makes this worse XD) but their love is so strong and pure that it almost feels wrong to ship them. that aside, that scene where the magician remembers finding them in the tower ruins (he says something along the lines of "what I saw that day was not the bond of that between master and servant) my mind instantly went to "ohmygoodnessTHEY'REDOINGIT" xD I have a bad mind. I also really liked Cassian and Jizabel - I have trouble admitting this though because Shota kinda weirds me out and Cassian spends the majority of the manga in the body of a kid, but even so I found myself really liking this pairing in the end. Jizabel as a character was just so heartwrenchingly tragic (to the point that I almost couldn't take him seriously at first. I actually couldn't take God Child seriously at all until I was a good few volume's in O-o) and Cassian being so devoted and caring was just so sweet, and Jizabel only realizing it in the end was just... ;_; I knew it was never going to end well for him (granted, I didn't expect it to end well for ANYONE, but Jizabel especially) but I was really rooting for him and Cassian. I cried a little when I was finished.
