On the rooftop of a pub sat Keket, her legs dangling over the edge as she read silently via moonlight, she had been in the area only for the day as of far, sure she had sensed a few other immortals around but no one had hunted her down so she was comfortable staying there a while. In the few hours she had been there she had already found the best place to relax at, she could read, bask in the sun, of go down to the pub and get a drink and play darts. To top it off she was renting a room from the pub owner so it was all close to where she was staying, it was perfect as of far, sure most likely farther town the time line something would go wrong but that was life in a nut shell.

Fishing the last page of the book she dropped it next to her to glance down at people coming and going from the pub doors, the music from the heard from where she was even, some random hard rock song she wasn't familiar with, though she liked the beat to it. With an emotionless smile she picked herself up, not forgetting to grab the book before wandering through the roof entrance and heading down the stairs, after throwing the book in her room, to the main part of the pub. She had to take a moment for her ears to adjust to the loud music then glanced around to find a spot to sit at, didn't matter where, and as luck would have it there was a seat open at the bar, a seat she quickly slid into.

Upon ordering a drink she about laughed when the bartender asked to see her ID but fished it from her back pocket to show, it listed her as Keket Stone, age 22, birth date April fourth, from New York. She was a ways from home, or at lest the place she had been living the last six years, but she was in the mood for a change of scenery, and this was a big change for her, she so rarely hit up small towns that it was nice to see people not busily about like feral chickens with their heads cut off. Finally getting her ordered drink she turned her back on the bar to stare out into the crowd, watching some mortals trying to dance, that could always amuse her how so many people thought they could after just a few drinks. Shaking her head slightly she sipped on the rum and coke mix and sighed at the weak state, some people might not like to taste the rum but she certainly did, but she didn't ask for it to be corrected, perhaps it was better this way, less chance of becoming disoriented, which was always good to not do.

Tapping her fingers on her leg to the beat of the music she was rather content to sit there in peace just as much as she had been to sit on the rooftop in silence, neither place made a difference to her in the long run.

Methos the oldest surviving Immortal, currently going by the name Adam Pierson, stepped into the little hole-in-the-wall pub as part of his current Tour of Little Known Watering Holes, and hadn't gone more than a few steps before he realized it was a mistake.

Drawing his long black coat close to his lanky form, he instinctively glance around for the source of the Immortal buzz even as he started to carefully back out through the crowd.

The only sign she felt anything about another immortal being near was the pause before she finished off her drink, how many are around here? I wouldn't have thought this many, goodness. A soft sigh as she ordered another drink thinking she might needed it before then looking around, looking for, well anyone else that was looking around on edge, how else was she to know who was who?

Methos spotted the female Immortal at about the same time as she spotted him, and for a moment he froze. Then he gave her a neutral smile, before continuing to back out of the bar.

She visibly relaxed when she saw he was backing out, goodie, not a fighter, works for me, if she had had a way to inform him she wasn't going to bite, or anything else for that matter might have, instead gave a small monotoned smile, her green eyes dead in feeling as she watched him. In past years she might have done more, it wasn't so much she was lazy now days, it just didn't matter to her as much, if someone had a problem again her, fine, otherwise she left the others alone and hoped they returned the favor. Well past the few friends they had amongst them, otherwise they could leave her along.

Turning to the bartended she said something to them that wasn't heard over the music, in fact the bartender barely heard but nodded, not but oddly a few seconds later a waitress went to approach Methos, "Excuse me? Sir? A lady at the bar ordered this for you." It was a simple beer, sort of white flag on her part, she might have done a different drink but hell if she could thing of anything better, besides a drink was a drink in her mind.

Ack! Methos thought, automatically accepting the mug. Beer! My mortal weakness. Cunning lass.

Handing the barmaid a dollar for her trouble, he politely raised the glass in the other Immortal's direction and then took a swallow. At his age, recognition of a truce was easy, and he decided to get a better look at her while it lasted, see if he had run across her profile when he had been a Watcher.

[sorry about the last post, I type almost everything in work because internet explorer randomly closes on me and I ended up pasting it twice without realizing, sorry!]

For once that pulled a hint of emotion from her, relief, it was clear in her light green eyes for a second before hidden quickly, automatically even, she gave a small bow of her head, causing bangs to hide her eyes a moment. She went to tuck the random stands behind her ears, another automatic gesture, one she had been doing for years, most of her small gestures were done without thought, most of her words as well, it had been a long time since she had stopped to think before doing anything. It was out of boredom, nothing interested her anymore, maybe the occasional book, rarely a play, she didn't like movies, everything just seemed dull to her. That being one of the reasons she didn't pick fights, always felt like a rerun, the same thing over and over again, it was distasteful really.

The waitress had already slipped off, after accepting the dollar of course, the mere fact he had taken the drink got Keket to not view him as a threat at that time, only for now though, she held no qualms about farther down the road. She turned a moment to tell someone off for hitting on her, just some drunkard, it didn't bother her, though a hint of English accent came into play as her cold tone told him just he could do with himself. Only once the man staggered off did she glance back to Methos, wishing to keep tabs on him while he was within the building.

OOC: Yup, thought it was something like that! No worries! BTW, I've been playing Methos in RPGs for at least three years now. He's fun! cool

Methos had snagged a seat at one of the crowded tables, the other occupants welcoming him like a long-lost brother, to which he responded with mild enthusiasm. Swallowing more beer, he let his mind travel back through the CD rom data base he and Don Salzer had put together several years ago, and after a moment the girl's identity came up.

She had been going by the name Marena Something-or-Other at the time, approximately 400, birth identity still undocumented. Thought to be Brit or Celt. He glanced about in an easy motion as if merely people-watching, trying to spot the girl's Watcher.

[On the site I was on I think we went though over a dozen people that tried to play Methos, it was almost funny if it hadn't been so pathetic, half of them couldn't write a detailed sentence if their life had depended on it. Most the others twisted his personality to the point of not recongizing it].

In the mean time she finished another mixed drink then went to soda, earning a glare from the bartender, not that she seemed to mind in the lest. She had been planning on buying the building, the fact he, Methos, was there didn't mess up her plans any, she owned a few pubs here and there, true she tried to visit them often, but it wasn't like she lived in them. For all she cared the buildings could have a group of immortals as it's regulars, as long as they paid and didn't start trouble it was the same to her.

Once she found Methos she gave a small smirk, she had to admit it was nice to have someone not rudely challenging her, she behaved after all, well most of the time at lest, that was good enough though. Keket did go to stand, mainly because since she was on to soda now she was kind enough to give someone else the seat, and she was tired of the bartender glaring at her after only a few seconds. She moved with only minor problems through the crowd, holding her drink close to her to avoid spilling it, not wearing heals made her a short little thing, but she never could stand shoes with heals, hard to walk in, hard to run, hard to fight in, and if someone had a problem with her height they could just get over it.

It took her a little time to find a table, a small table only for two, and by some type of miracle devoid of people, she took it with little thought, so it put her closer to him, that hadn't been her plan and she didn't dwell on it.

To him it might have been noticeable that there was another casting barely noticeable glances to her, a male that had yet to have a drink of any type, that had when she had gone to move turned a little to at lest know where she was. After that he went back to having a calm discussion with what appeared to be a friend of his, or an over friendly drunk, it was so hard to tell. For a moment the person looked up and spotted Methos, but only offered a smile before practically ignoring him.

OOC: Well, one does have to warp him a bit to keep him in play -- technically he would have left this scene by now! biggrin Still, one doesn't have to go overboard!

Having spotted her Watcher, Methos nodded to himself, watching Marena (or whatever she was calling herself currently) make her way to a nearby two-top. Shrugging, the ancient took it as an invitation and cautiously rose, raising his eyebrows to her for permission to join her.

[Yes that's to be expected, but these people were doing far more than that, like having him randomly attack people, that was highly annoying, very highly annoying even.]

She gave a mere shrug in answer, if she didn't care one way or another, in reality she didn't, but motioned for him to sit, wasn't going to bother her, and if he was willing why not? Oddly it looked as if she wasn't armed for some reason, the dress she was wearing already made it hard to carry a weapon, but it wasn't as if she was wearing a jacket or anything to be able to hide a sword. She did have something on her of course, she wasn't that foolish, just not a full sword at the moment, it was harder to move through a crowd with one, and she wasn't planning on going anywhere.

OOC: Ack!!! How could they have missed the point of his character sooooo badly! stressed LOL!

Methos sat and smiled disarmingly. "Don't worry," he said in his pleasant English accent. "I won't be here long. Just wanted to thank you for the beer." He held out his hand. "Adam Pierson."

[This being why Methos went through many people trying to play him before finally someone that was good at it.]

With only a minor hesitation she took his hand firmly and shook it, offering a dead smile, "Keket Stone." Theses days. A name never mattered to her, it was just syllables put together, it said nothing about her and just didn't matter to her what she was called, she was always having to change her name anyway. It was hard these days for people not to not notice a person aging, even with moving, besides she tended to stay in an area for at lest a few years.

"And stay, go, doesn't matter." Very much an English accent in her tone, no matter where she lived for how long that hadn't faded any, she rather it not fade.

"Appreciate it, thanks," Methos said, studying Marena, now Keket Stone, sereptitiously. The dead smile, the flat eyes, the barely conceled weariness all seemed to spell a depression, a boredom that was well beyond her supposed years. Methos couldn't remember when he had turned 400, but it was some time before he started keeping track of his age. Boredom was not something he often had to contend with -- he had learned long ago how to keep depression at bay, as it was contrary to his continued survival.

"Keket's an unusual name," he said conversationally. "Egyptian?"

She answered with a short nod before expanding on her answer, "Yes, a....friend came up with it." There was that split moment of hesitation before she said the word 'friend' like it didn't exactly match, or at lest hadn't been the first thing that had come to mind. "They thought it fit me well enough." Okay so they had thrown it at her as sort of an insult, didn't matter to her, they had been right.

"Would you like another beer?" She inquired only after she saw he was almost done with his current one, it also showed she truly didn't care if he stayed or not, he wasn't a bother as of far, she had a feeling he wasn't normally either.
