So which are you Britons planning to celebrate?

or are you going to do both?

I know I will! mrgreen

don't you think they should be on 2 separate days?

I've never bothered much with mother's day (neither has my mum, for that matter), and I don't even know what you're meant to do on Saint Patrick's day.

Er, they are.

Saturday, March 17th is St Paddy's.
Sunday, March 18th is Mother's Day.

You learn something new everyday. Frankly, I didn't have the first clue when either of them were.

I'll Be Celebrating both.
St. Patricks' day is a damn good excuse to drink copious amounts of Guinness.
It's my first Mother's day as a parent.

Mothering Sunday for me.

I'm not Irish, I have no discernible Irish blood or family, if I want to drink Guinness then I'll drink it on my own terms thank you, and I don't worship, much rate, or even really understand this mythical Irish culture.

I'm going out in Liverpool (which we all know is the spiritual capital of Ireland lol) tonight, I'll have to try and not go too mad though cause I'll be attempting to get out of bed at a reasonable hour for Mother's Day tomorrow

They're on these dates for historical reasons.

I bought my mum some chrysanthemums for tomorrow. I'm not going out tonight but I probably will be going down to the Irish centre with my family later. And for the Irish among you with a penchant for French, happy SymPatick Day.

Yes, celebrate your patron saint, an important religious figure, by getting royally tanked up and singing "white rover" in a silly hat.

My mum already got some Lilies and walnut whip. It's nice to appreciate your ma'.

That's just the English.

Tonight I celebrate being Irish by blood, and by law. (Finally got into the spirit).

It's not just the English, it's also the Irish who are no longer in Ireland. I am so glad I got away with not working tonight.

I celebrate most things by getting royally tanked up. That's just how you celebrate. I did not sing any songs unfortunately. St. Patrick was indeed a teetotaler.
