I'm usually embarrassed by this, but since my newfound love for Star Trek, I'm not feeling so bad anymore.

See, I have pointy ears. When I was young, it was quite obvious, and my relatives would often tell me my mother adopted me from Mr. Spock (which of course, at the time, meant nothing to me). As I've grown older, my ears have rounded a bit, but they're still pointy enough that my housemates have dubbed me to be a discarded robot of romulan origin.

So, does anyone else have any embarrassing stories relating to Star Trek or am I the only freak in here? =P

Captain's log narration sounds quite amusing. Do you use stardates or..?

Best story I have:

I work at a theatre, and a few years ago they put up a staged reading of "Wit" starring Lisa Harrow and Partick Stewart.

Patrick Stewart specifically requested that he be treated as a stage actor and he did NOT want to see anyone in a Star Trek uniform or have them make any reference to Star Trek. He specifically requested that no one make a joke about "make it so" ((Beyond this he was actually truely wonderful to work with, so it just must be wanting to seperate his movie/tv persona from his stage work))

They forgot to tell the production staff what day he was coming into town...

My tech director came into the shop, yelling "You have to take your car home before Patrick Stewart gets here!!!"

yeah... I'm totally not a crazy trekkie, but I never lived that one down.

This really isn't an embarrassing story, but it is pretty funny. My mom, little bruther and me were bringing my dad a Coke at his store. I opened it for my dad, and my mom told me that I couldn't have any, so I replied that I was a ferengi and that I required payment. My dad, who is in total denial of Star Trek, then asked me whay I was wearing clothes! Any drink that I had came splurting out of my nose.
