The good thing is my sister decided to become an MCR fan.
The bad news is it's just because she likes the song Welcome to the Black Parade.
I can't stand that.
I hate it when people start suddenly adoring bands because of one popular song.
Sure, I started liking them because of Helena, but I got obsessed after hearing The Jetset Life is Gonna Kill You.
I made her listen to Famous Last Words.
Her: "I don't really like this song..."
Me: "It's by MCR."
Her: "I changed my mind I really like it."
Completely crappy attidude.
She's just one of those people who likes popular music.
... Sorry, I shouldn't be bothering all of you with this.
Just expressing my opinions about those so-called fans.

I know what you mean. It really makes you want to stab someone in the eye, doesn't it?

um.....okay,so,first of all, Helena was popular you started to like MCR after you heard Helena.Your sister started to like them after she heard welcome to the black parade, another popular song. The Jetset Life is gonna kill you doesn't mean anything to that. And so your sister might not like any other MCR song,at least she's listening to WTTBP. So basically you're being a hypocrite. And i'm sorry your sister doesn't like Famous Last Words the whole "oh it's my chemical romance so i like the song" is terrible.

My little sister likes MCR.
But it was through me.

But I think she like's the guy's personalities. She watches a lot of interviews....

My friend only started liking nmcr because i did
but you know what? I don't care.
If it weren't for her i would have had to leave
my first mcr concert early instead she gave me a ride home.
She stopped me passing out in the mosh pit.

I only got in to mcr after my friend
made me listen to i'm not okay (i promise)
and i had to listen to it a few times
before i was hooked.

I'm a massive Ed Byrne fan
but i only got in to him from watching mock the week
when he was already popular...
so what, most people only get in to things
when a song or a person gets big.

It dosn't matter. I think us fans
and i'm as guilty as anyone but honestly
when you read some of the comments we make
(like i say me included)
we sound so horribly elitest.
And thats a sad thing. loving mcr is about
feeling your part of something and feeling you
actually do belong somewhere.

Being able to be confident about being you.
Just because she likes mcr just because of the black parade
dosn't mean she is any less of a fan then any of us.

So she wasn't big on jetset life.
My brother loves mcr and i quote
'there new album is s**t i'm selling my ticket'
(to the concert) it dosn't mean he dosn't like the band
just means he dosn't like there new songs.

Just because your sister dosn't like there old stuff
dosn't matter. There sound has radically changed.

My only objection to this new MCR craze
is when they start using Gerard
as a pin up in girly magasines
and thats because they only focus
on Gerard and it seems to miss the point
of the band and there songs...

At least thats what i think.

Thanks for bringing this up. i know excatly how that feels, i deal ith this at school like, all the time. like these preppy girls all like Welcome to the Black Parade and This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms race just because it's on the radio. i hate it. i'm always like, "have you heard any other MCR songs? have you heard House of Wolves, it's really good" and about FOB i'm like, "soo...are you gonna get IOH?" and everyone's like, what's that?

What makes you any more real then them? To be fair in my oppinion FOB as a band are fake and kind of moronic. There whiny little bastards. But i don't go around voicing this view to all there fans telling them that they like a band that is faker then faux fur. You can't tell me all preps are bad...or that all chavs are bad. I have a friend, she is the biggest chav i know but since her nan died she has started to listen to the used and mcr because she heard welcome to the black parade on the radio. Does this make her fake or does this mean she just found somthing that finally understand her.

I am more then aware i have made these sort of 'OMG I hate teenie' comments before, but looking back on them like i said we are all becoming elitists and its kind of sad. I mean we all lose it if someone says there a s**t band (i know i do) but thats silly too, we wont change peoples oppinions and most of us only got in to mcr in 3 cheers...well go us that album as i recall was pretty ******** huge too...perhapes all of us i.e me you everyone should stop getting so worked up about all this s**t. We should be in it for the music and the feeling of unity and acceptence which has so far been denied to us....

Fake fans? What the hell is a fake fan?
Just because they only like one song doesn't mean they're fake. Besides you don't have to LOVE MCR to like (some of) their music.

Stop hating people, it's horribly unattractive!

I think people are missing the point. It's not, "oh, they only like a popular song, they're so fake" or anything like that. It's people saying "OMG I LOVE THIS BAND!" after just listening to a song they heard on the radio. If you don't even attempt to listen to another song by the band, you don't really love them that much, do you? I mean, you (probably) like, even love, the song and all, but that doesn't really make you a fan now, does it? I like songs by certain bands, but I would never say I love the band after just one or two songs, I'd just say I love the song. I'm a fan of the song, not the band.
