Title: Daddy, where are you now?

Summary:
a song fic about the death of Hermione Granger's father and she remembers the good times they had.
Genre: Angst, sadness

Rating:
PG

this is a song fic i made. i wrote the song a year ago and then wrote the story to go with it.

Is it all my fault?

Did I cause this pain?

Is the bloodstained snow because of me?

Hermione stared at her father’s body; blood was all over the ground. It was her fault, and she knew it. Voldemort killed him because of her. A tear slid down her cheek, as she knelt in the snow and brushed a gloved hand across his forehead. He looked so peaceful.

A girl of six

In my favorite dress

You call me your favorite princess

In the world.

I ask you, "Daddy, do you love me?"

And you answer, "Yes, ‘cause you'll always be,

Daddy’s little girl."

Flash back:

Six-year-old Hermione twirled around in the new party dress that her mother had bought her. Then she ran out to show her dad.

“There’s my princess,” he laughed, scooping her up and twirling her around.

So Daddy,

Where are you now?

Can’t you see how much I need to be

Your little girl again

Hermione looked up to the sky and blinked as snowflakes fell like raindrops on her face. It was his favorite time of year.

“Why!” she screamed. “Why him!” she sobbed. “Daddy, don’t leave me.”

A girl of twelve

I just lost my best friend

It seems like the end

Of the world.

You hold me tight,

Suddenly everything's all right

‘Cause I’m Daddy's little girl

Flash back:

“You’re a what?” Hermione’s best muggle friend asked horrified. “Get away from me you freak!” She ran inside and slammed the door. Hermione ran home, tears in her eyes and flew right into her father’s arms. He rubbed her back, telling her that she still had Harry and Ron.

So Daddy

Where are you now

Can’t you see how much I need to be

Your little girl again

Hermione felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up into the warm yet sad eyes of Harry. He knelt down next to her and wrapped his comforting arms around her.

“Go ahead and cry, ‘Mione. It’s alright to cry.” She clung to him, though she could not tear her eyes away from her dead father.

A girl of eighteen

With my prom date

You hand me a rose

Tell me not to be late

For anything in the world

We hug and you say goodbye

You wipe a tear from your eye

And tell me, I’m daddy's little girl

Flash back:

Hermione felt jumpy and excited. This year Hogwarts was having a prom for the seventh years and Ron had asked her to go with him. Her father came to see her dressed and ready to go and he kissed her cheek.

“Have fun darling,” he whispered, handing her a rose. She smiled as Ron extended a hand.

“Thanks daddy,” she said softly.

So Daddy

Where are you now

Can’t you see how much I need to be

Your little girl again

“We should go,” Harry said quietly, pulling her up. She nodded and wiped her tears.

“I’ll always love you, daddy,” she whispered as Harry led her inside. He gently led her to the phone and she dialed 911.

“My father has been murdered,” she said into the phone.

Is it all my fault?

Did I cause this pain?

Is the bloodstained snow because of me?

Harry and Hermione watched as the ambulence drove up and several paramedics got out. They watched as Mr. Granger was placed on a stretcher and taken away.

Is it all my fault?

Did I cause this pain?

Is the bloodstained snow because of me?

The two of them watched the ambulence disappearred around the corner, and Harry put an arm around her. She felt safe and knew that he would always be there for her.

Great job. I love the way it moves. Just beautiful. I can't wait to see more of your work. Is there anywhere we can hear you music you wrote for this?
