Ok... I'm trying to decide whether I like this song or hate it. When I first heard it I kept thinking "this isn't a Star Trek song, it's... pop music"

Then I got enterprise on DvD and after watching a dozen or so episodes I found myself with the song in my head, humming it while doing dishes or in the car.

Is the song really that bad? Anyone else ever get it in thier head.

I also keep thinking that the original series' theme song actually has words and was supposed to be a cheesy love ballad before the words were nixed.

~*~*~

And for reference those words are:

Beyond the rim of the starlight
My love is wandering in starflight
I know he'll find in star covered reaches
Love, strange love a star woman teaches

I know his journey ends never
His Star Trek will go on forever
And while he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me

.... Almost makes Faith of the Heart sound like high quality *chuckle*

I never knew that the Original Series opening had words, and I love Enterprises' opening. At least this on we can sing!

XD lol, yeah, I actually found a recording of someone singing the lyrics of the Original Trek song. I thought it was pretty neat. As for the Enterprise opening theme, I was a little taken aback at first, but it really did grow on me (yes I got it stuck in my head a few times as well), and I actually like it now. Even if it is slightly cheesy, it now kinda represents Trek.

I thought it was a good song, a good intro, and a good show.
I never got to watch it much due to school, but I tried to.

It's to the point where I almost *have* to sing faith of the heart along with the tv *chuckle*

I think it was Tenacious D that did a live cover of the original star Trek song

I have the song! I actually bought the CD with the song on it. It also has random songs and I quote:
Klingon Chase-Shotgunned
Phaser Fight
Temporal Battle
Blood Work
New Horizons
Archers Theme

and the song from the show along with the album version (complete song)

Tenacious D once sang those lyrics to the Star Trek tune at a live show one time. I don't know if those lyrics were ever official or not, but I thought it was pretty cool.

They were the real lyrics *nodnod*

I had the lyrics printed in an old music book from the 1970's and they're the exact same as tenacious D's

I do not like the ENT theme song it contradicts the "normal" way that ST theme song work out ever since TNG and I really do not like any vocal music anyway.

It is, but most of the songs are instrumentals...and don't remind you of any fights or battle at all...lol smile
