I've been walking for about an hour each day,is that to much/little or just right?

I am really sore when I wake up but the soreness goes away quickly.

Hmmmm. Its hard to say what its a good amount of time for walking. It kinda depends on your pace. One time I drove my car the route I walked to measure miles. It wasn't exactly accurate but close. Then if you take the length you have walked and the time you can figure out a rate. If you go to sparkpeople.com you can figure out calories burned by putting in a rate in an exercise section after joining..

If i have someplace to walk i can walk for hours at a time.

If you're pushing yourself yes.
Meandering along for an hour really doesn't do much, but it is better than nothing..
to really get a good workout from a walk though, you need to walk fast enough to get your heart rate up. 3nodding

soreness means you are working enough for it to hurt, and since it goes away (which is good) i think you are doing the right amount. walking is the best exercise.

I think walking 1 or 2 miles is good...as long as you keep hydrated!


Evern better if you have walking buddies!
