You're probably referring to the "am-pao".. that red envelope where you're given money during your birthday or during Chinese New Year... but they're from your relatives... NOT a monk.. ^_^;;;

thats false when you go see a monk on chinese new year he just gives u this semi bleessing thing. Then after that ur supposed to ne a whole year older no matter when ur bday in that year is.
