Alright, I know that quite a few of you have been to MyChem's concerts, but I would like to know if you lot would let your 13 year old, or any 13 year old, go to their concerts and such.

Not un-supervised, obviously.

I'd like to know things that happen commonly, I need someone to tell me if a 13 year old could go there, and what the average attendance age is (the age of the people who attend the concert; the common ages).

I wouldn't really let a 13 year old go...with al lthe moshing and older people there ...that would just be chaotic. I think the youngest age for any rock concert would be 15.

It's not that the 13 year old would do something stupid, it's the other people there.

Yeah, me too, and I saw MCR. But, if there is concern for a 13 yr old going, why not get seating tickets? It might not be as exciting, but I mean, it's still fun and all that.
When I saw MCR, the age group consisted of teens, mainly, I'd say probably 15 or 16 was majority. I can't really remember...but then again, Papa Roach was there, also. But I saw lots of younger girls with their moms. And this one girl(I think in her 20s) brought along her brother, who was like 9? Or 10.

But yeah, a younger person shouldn't go without supervision.

Nope. I agree with Shura-Pendragon, 15 or 16 is a good age to start going to rock concerts. At 13 they are more likely to do something incredibly stupid. I know I would have, and I'm glad that my parents never let me go to one untill I was older. I was also able to do more stuff since I was older.

[No offence to some of the younger people in this guild.]

It depends on their maturity.
The first Rock Concert I went to was when
I was 12.
smile

If the 13 year old was with a supervisor then
of course.
Girls seem to mature faster than guys...
So I would more of prefer the supervisor to
be female.
xD

I mean, I definately wouldnt let my 13 year old go
alone...but supervised sure.
When I first went i was with my 17 year old sister,
and everything went fine.
=]

So yeah, it depends on how trustful and mature
the person is
.

I probably would, but not by themselves obviously, I'd try for a friend who was 16 at least. I'd let them go by themselves or (preferrably) with friends maybe at 15.

But that young, I'd probably insist on them having a seated ticket unless I was absolutely sure they and their supervisor(s) could handle themselves. I don't want my kid coming home with a black eye and a busted lip.

It also depends on the venue. I have the benefit of living very close to a 'main' (so I like to think) London venue and easy travel to various others, but for others it's not so simple.

Two of my best friends went last year. They were both twelve. One of them had been the year before as well.
And yes. I would. I'm thirteen until tomorrow. xp

I would say yes and yet also no. Yes for depending on where you sit. Don't put a 13 year old in a mosh pit.

i'm 12 and i'm going to their concert in Feb.

i would let my 13 year old go, if they really meant something to her/him, cuz i know how it feels, age doesnt really matter.

so, yes definitely.

No. Not at 13. Definately not. Ever.

I feel a bit guilty because I'd get so mad at my parents for not letting me go to concerts at that age, but thinking back, it was a good decision on their part.

Concerts, especially rock, are NOT a place for ANYONE under 16. Maybe a mature 15-year-old. But definately not 13. And even if I let my 16 or 15-year-old go, I'd want to go too. I wouldn't make them stay with me the whole time, but I'd at least want to be at the concert, just in case.
