Rate my Dreadnought!

This peice was one i did for my friend, Reaven Guards, but i wanted to play around with script so he isnt really spartanlike plz rate on its looks

Hmm.

It's okay.

Try to use less paint. 6 layers is better than one plastering.

Also, small pics or a link please. I don't hve my 90 inch monitor hooked up yet.

I think the stripes ruined it.

maybe it's just because the pic was so big.

nice job painting the glass, it's small but a nicely done patch of work.

Adoring the glass.
Dispising the gold.
Loving the base.
Hating the 'writing'.
Liking the fist.
Not a great fan of the grey trimming.

Swathes of two random colours aren't my favourite. Not saying that I'd do any better, but I just don't nessecarily like the way the colours work. Also, the white lines which I believe are supposed to act as writing in some cases is the biggest turn off for me. But they do have a good point, that's some nice glass.

Lenses look good and you seem to have spent a moderate ammount of time on this. The squiggly "writing" is overbearing and metalics without contrast or highlight is somewhat blah.

base is so-so
paint seems to thick IMHO.
assault cannon barrels are not drilled out.

wow... I guess I will never post any images of anything I ever model because I don't take criticism well. I'll just make note of what people say about other things and not risk any negative comments other than "you should've done more"

I personally thought it was pretty good. That's better than I would've done, so I can't say anything negative.

Pros:

The blue glass is really good. And I like the colors you used on the non gun hand, you could have worked more in the center of the hand though. The bronsish metal leg plates are well done on the edges.


Cons:

The wrighting is too big and the worn edges on the black are too frequent and too thick. There is something funny about the gun although it may just be the angle of the picture.

I'm curious, having seen someone rate this as Golden Demon quality, what people are comparing this to? 'Eavy metal, Golden Demon, general tabletop standard, or your own personal works?

looks pretty good to me, its kinda like my dreadnaught (dark angels pwn ^^).
