I dunno. Umm, how about we talk about movies in this thread.

Has anyone seen Casino Royale yet?

As a die hard Bond fan, since the age of six, I refuse to see this new Bond film. <_< It lacks everything that Bond is, and it didn't even have Ian Fleming, I mean COME ON! ...alright I'll stop there, no need to get started.

Well, I liked it.
I liked it a lot.

Besides, how do you know it's so bad if you haven't seen it?

There are some things in this world that I don't have to experience in order to know they'd be bad. Like getting shot......or lit on fire. Seeing that movie follows the same pattern. ;D And seriously, I'm a James Bond -nut- which means there are a lot of things I demand when a new Bond is brought forth. There isn't just one way to do Bond, for if there was the series would have died long ago, but every actor who takes part in the legacy needs to bring a certain element into it. Sean Connery -was- Bond, the perfect Bond for he studied the character like no one else and displayed all the characteristics Bond's creator desired. Roger Moore brought in the comical view while Dalton brought in a more serious view, there was Brosnan who combined a Connery and Moore projection of Bond and.....well, Craig's got nothing.

The part I find amusing is that this is a remake, you'd think Craig would have had a very easy time slipping into the role. Craig's only saving grace is that he performed his own stunts, and that is the only thing that draws many Bond fanatics such as myself.

So in the end, to each his own.

I'm very "iffy" on seeing it. I think it's too much of a jump from the other films. Honestly, I think they were just trying to capture the success that Batman Begins had. =/ And I've heard from those who've seen it that there isn't much of a plot. Add in that the new guy playing Bond wanted a gay scene in the next one and I'm gonna have to say no. I have nothing against gay people. It's just...Bond isn't gay. Bond is ALL about the ladies. That's just part of who he is. I can't stand the radical ideas this new guy wants to put through. Just. Oy.
As for seeing the movie--I refuse to pay to see it in theaters. If someone else buys the DVD, I'll give it a chance. But I doubt it can live up to the standards the past Bonds have set. sad

;-; Apparently the first 30 minutes are all that's worth viewing, after that he just throws on this playboy act and seems like a kid. They seriously should have left this one alone after the '67 attempt.

And I'm perfectly fine with the whole gay love thing, but damnit, Bond is a ladies' man and has been since the first! D:< If they have Bond pitching or catching in a gay love scene I'm seriously going to write so much friggin' hate mail! Not even kidding.

I remember when I first heard about the "mission" in this one. It was just like ". . . a card game? o_O He has to play a GAME OF POKER?!" But I'll stop bashing it until I actually see it ._.
As for the other things...I can't even imagine him in a gay scene. o_O I guess it'd be more believable pitching rather than recieving though. xD;;
There's also rumour he wanted a full frontal nudity shot. But I think that would just be too much like porn. Maybe it's just me, but I like artistic reasoning for shots in movies. =/
My roommate went to see it and told me that the best parts of the movie were in the previews on tv.

What do you guys think about more Bond movies after this? You know there are going to be more...any ideas of what to expect? I've heard some suggest that it's just a rough start for the new guy and it'll get better as they go along. I can't really make a prediction because 1)I haven't seen this one yet (XD) and 2)there have been turn-arounds, but it's still uncommon. x_x

They already have the new Bond movie listed, called Bond 22 (Catch 22 anyone?) or something ridiculous like that. Up point, Fleming is on the writing crew so at least a touch of true Bond will be present!

I agree about artistic reasoning in movie shots, and this guy I just don't find to be one of those actors who deserves a full frontal nudity role. Nope nope nope!

What do I expect? Another lame 30 minutes of fantabulousness and then 1-1.5 hours of pure crap. Ugh, I really have a problem with this guy, I want him gone. It's like I went to talent contest, saw a few amazing acts and then a moron steps on stage and blows bubbles. VERY. DISAPPOINTING. I just don't like this guys attitude, I don't like how he approached this role, and it's going to take a hollywood miracle to get me to -ever- think he belongs. /rant

I'm rather curious how Fleming handles this next Bond though, he's the solid glue that kept this show on the road. I have this hope that Craig will make a suggestion to him one day and Fleming will go "I think not, you're through." Oh how I dream! God I hope the second Bond is his last Bond.

Oh, okay.

Wait.
What?!
gonk

I hope those are rumors because I'm not seeing a movie that has an actor who wants such a scene.

<.< Um...you'd be surprised how many actors are willing to do such scenes, and how many request them. Very common.
