I'm a really big fan of good lyrics and just wondering which ones you currently stuck on or old favorites?

right now on some cat empire, waltz in particular, decided to go with whole song this time

Was going to write a song at a time
When my life and my moods were in order and fine
But the hour was late and my room was a state
And I realized that song I would never create
And so this is a song I discovered instead
The song about living before we are dead
And by living I don’t mean perfection like gold
Cos living my friends is the sweet unresolved

LA LA LA LA LA LA LA
LEAN OVER YOUR BALCONIES AND DON’T RUN INSIDE
LOOK AFTER YOUR WORLD AND SHE MIGHT TREAT YOU RIGHT
LET RANDOM-THINGS-PROVIDE-IMAGINATION SOMETIMES OH

I’ve seen people trying to package their love
Like a dove in the kitchen with a note that says
Make sure you scrub well and plan and prepare everything
Affection as clean as a triangle ting
But love it or not love’s as mad as they come
Oh it’s sly and it’s wise and it’s wonderfully dumb
And while some might still say ‘No it’s pure like one’
My love it is wild and not mild and on the run

An Austrian waltz is a very strange thing
When it’s played in the midst of the Melbourne music boxing ring
And who said that culture can’t grow from a whim
My god there is strength when a cat learns to swim
‘And what is a king’ he screamed at the wind
A king is decisive without and within
They can’t make me stumble they don’t hit my chin
They told me I mumbled so I decided to sing

I’d never be too old or bitter and thin
Was born with a smile and I’d die with a grin
And I dive in the ocean when the sky tumbles in
And I’d rise when I find a way to make her shining
And I know the trick that the gods love to play
You say you want one thing they take it away
But action I’ve found is a seven letter word
Pretend you want a shoebox
And find you’ve found the world

I love this song:

"A moment of silence" By "Streetlight Manifesto"

Quote:
a moment of silence please for those who never get the chance
they show up to the party but they're never asked to dance
the losers the liars the bastards the thieves
the cynicists, the pessimists and those that don't believe in nothing

i never met a loser that i didn't see eye to eye with, i declare
i stare into your eyes
but you look right past me into the air
what's it like to stand in your shoes?
to have never felt the belt of somebody's abuse?
i take the bottle and i tip it to all my heroes that have passed
alas, you have left us but your stories they will last
uninspired by the recruiting call
independent we stand
independent we fall

so tell me: how long do you think you can go before you lose it all?
before they call you bluff and watch you fall?
i don't know but i'd like to think i had control
at some point but i let it go and lost my soul
sit tight but the revolution's years away
i'm losing faith and i'm running low on things to say
so i guess i have no choice but to regurgitate
the tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite
oh! to have died that night i realized it wouldn't last!
our days were numbered and the reaper tipped the hourglass
the final mayday of our sinking ship had come and passed
oh! to the west, you don't know what it is you're running from
and everybody's laughing loud
your last chance to make your mother and father proud

oh, oh, oh...

a moment of silence please for those who never get the chance
they show up to the party but they're never asked to dance
the losers the liars the bastards the thieves
the cynicists, the pessimists and those that don't believe in nothing

they said &a pox
upon your house
upon your family and everyone you ever knew
and everyone you'll ever meet&
i bet they think we wish we joined when we could
but we do what we want we don't do what we should
now everybody's laughing
because they're thinking they in on something i don't get
don't forget
i connect and i read every word you said
like a child who believes he was wronged
if you hate me so much then stop singing my songs

so tell me: how long do you think you can go before you lose it all?
before they call you bluff and watch you fall?
i don't know but i'd like to think i had control
at some point but i let it go and lost my soul
sit tight but the revolution's years away
i'm losing faith and i'm running low on things to say
so i guess i have no choice but to regurgitate
the tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite
oh! to have died that night i realized it wouldn't last!

the final mayday of our sinking ship had come and passed
oh! to the west, you don't know what it is you're running from
and everybody's laughing loud
your last chance to make your mother and father proud

oh, oh, oh...

Well, basically, anything by the World/Inferno Friendship Society has wonderful lyrics.

Oh, and "This is Not an Exit" by Saves the Day.

And EVERYTHING by Tomas Kalnoky is genius.

"Do Nothing" by the Specials, and a lot of their stuff, like "Too Much, Too Young.

Morrisey is amazing.

Yeah, I'm far from done, but by now, you'll all hate me.

Oh, and speaking of Cat Empire, I really relate to the lyrics of their song "The Car Song", and I absolutely adore how cute "Lullaby" is.

Well, my favorite lyric would probably be:

"When you wake up, everything is gonna be fine. I guarantee that you'll wake in a better place, in a better time."
I guess you could say that I live by those words.

Also:

"I never wanted this, no one ever wanted this, but they gave it to me so I mine as well be proud of it."
