I laughed the other day when I saw a book of "pagan" prayers selling for over $30.

So I started this thread out of my own amusement, to welcome a collection of prayers.

I'll start with one to Amari De:

Amari De shookar dey,
Lav amaro paripe
Zoralyavav amaro bok
Tovav amaro bibok ji na panda
Choocho dey, asava e amin
Yardan amin
Arakhov amin

Rough translation:

Amari De, Beautiful mother,
Take away our sadness
Strengthen our "divine fortune"
Wash our "bad luck" away
Holy Mother smile upon us
Bless us and Keep us

My particular favorite is the Gayatri mantra:

Aum bhoor bhurwa svaha
tat savitur varenyam
bhargo devasaya dheemahi
dhiyo yo naha prachodayat

There are a few translations, the main difference I've found being acceptance of "savitur" as a deity or simply as a reference to the Sun as Brahman. The translation I tend to go by is "Let us meditate on the supreme effulgence of Brahman, from whom these three worlds Bhuh(earth), Bhuvah(atmosphere), Suvah (shining heavens) originated and who manifests to our eyes as the shining Sun. May those purifying divine rays enlighten our minds." Or, shorter: May Brahman, all and origin of all, purify our thoughts that we may see enlightenment.

There's a reason I plan on merging this prayer with my flesh.
