Is it two spaces after each full stop or just one?
I see people use one, but I was instructed in admin to use two.
Which is the english standard?

At the end of sentances.
Sorry.
I just put one in, I've never taken admin but did get an admin teacher for PSE. Some of the stuff they tried to make us do seemed so pointless.

I remember vaugely being instructed to use two in about year...4? PCs were just getting really popular in schools back then and they were still pretty a**l about such things!
My mother has occationally said I should double space but guess what? She's been ignored.

Two for a full stop, one for a comma.
I think Gaia kills the extra space anyway, but it looks neater and easier to read when you are typing a word document.

Though when writing formal documents - statute laws and orders and suchlike - they use a double space after the full stop.

I honestly don't know, but I usually do a single space. Like that, but if it works out better, I might do it two spaces.
I'll probably stick to one space though.

I've never even been aware that you're supposed to use two spaces eek In school they always told us to use one...

When they taught me to touchtype in school (a highly useful lesson, you won't believe the money I got paid in university to type up other people's essays while watching TV!), they taught us two spaces after a full stop, one after a comma. I've done that ever since and it always annoys me when official stuff uses one.
Given that the majority of people in the UK appear incapable of knowing when to use an apostrophe, however, I'd say this is a losing battle...

They told me to use two in elementary. But I thought it looked peculiar so I only use one, and it's not that I've ever been criticized for not using enough spaces after a period.

Deo_Machina I think PSE is just timetable filler. We've just get the same stuff each year.. PSE is such an utterly pointless lesson. I always take a book when we have it, just so I won't slit my wrists with bordom. And I don't really know... I think it's supposed to be two spaces, but I never botherXD
