(Ooh my first topic!)
I've laughed out loud over it several times.
The New York 'Weekly World News'. It's a newspaper, but it's so full of absolutely hilarious headlines it can't possibly be real. It is real, unfortunatley, but do people really take it seriously? I don't know. Here's an example of a few headlines from the 'science' section...
"SCIENTISTS INVENT THE ULTIMATE CUSS WORD
By MATT KIRSCH
AFTER TEN long years and millions of dollars, Canadian scientists claim they have developed a new cuss word which is the mother of all profanity.
The word is so horrible, Weekly World News has chosen not to print it."
"SCIENTIST REVEALS: THUNDER CAUSED BY FAT PEOPLE DOING JUMPING JACKS
The results of a prominent new scientific study reveal that thunder is caused exclusively by the pounding sounds created by fat people doing jumping jacks!"
"GO TO THE BATHROOM JUST ONCE A YEAR!
RESEARCHERS are seeking FDA approval of a new pill that would mean only one trip to the bathroom per year."
"GIANT MYSTERY EGG FOUND IN ARCTIC!
Dr. Renay and a team of five colleagues found the partially exposed, 6-foot egg lodged in permafrost while monitoring the movements and mating patterns of polar bears a few hundred miles south of the North Pole."
And possibly my favourite:
"BELGIUM DESTROYED BY ROGUE ASTEROID!
The obscure nation of Belgium, often called "Europe's forgotten country," was virtually destroyed by the impact of an asteroid -- but incredibly, outsiders didn't notice for three weeks."
