So, I was just talking about it in Chatterbox and realised we didn't have a thread here (I couldn't see one anyway).

Did you play it? Did you see the slash? (the beautiful slash) Did you go out into the dangerous and murky world of fandom? Did you get angry at your lack of gaming skill and threaten to bash their pixellated heads in with a playstation pad? ...maybe that one was just me after all. Lol.

For those who don't know [or can't remember]:
At the beginning of the game, you find yourself in the shoes of Cloud, a mercenary currently in the employ of AVALANCHE - a small group of freedom fighters/terrorists who aim to overturn the mighty Shinra corporation, which provides power to the planet by sucking Mako energy out of its core. He is soon pulled into the type of plot which past fans of Final Fantasy have come to know and love: twisting and turning, although sometimes rather cliched in a fun and not too annoying way.

True! That's gotta be the most bizarre plot twist I've ever had on a game. The whole squatting contest with the gym guy for a wig he kept down his pants... Just weird! Lol. smile

It's one of my favorite games. Yes, I saw the slash. How could I not? And because it wasn't a poll option... my favorite pairing is Tseng/Rufus. Rufus and Tseng have that wonder boss/bodyguard vibe that pleases me so very much. The Turks are so underrated in the fandom (well save for Reno >.>) and I am a huge Turks fan. Rufus being my favorite. ^.^ They're just so cool and so dedicated to each other. I love their dynamic.

Cid/Vincent's my other favorite pairing for the series. Vincent so needs someone to smack the emo out of him and Cid is perfect for the job. ^_^

I'm not overly fond of yaoi pairings with Cloud. I'm also probably the only person in all of the fandom that doesn't like Sephiroth/Cloud. I was actually rather fond of Cloud with either Aeris or Tifa (though I could see him with Vincent somewhat) and Sephiroth was always way too much of a momma's boy to ever get laid in my eyes. I stick to that no matter how much Cloud and Sephiroth reminded me of Kamui and Fuuma in Advent Children. >.>

I liked Yuffie and Scarlet in FF7 ^_^ I found Yuufie amusing and scarlet bad a** XD

Im british and your right the Rufus/Turks thing is si[milar XD thats a bit freaky! I love Rufus he's awesome! Even better with Reno XD

I didn't like Tifa in Advent Children. She seemed too... docile, I guess is the word.

Yeah she did have a good fight scene. But that’s that. After she lost to Loz (which aggravates me because it’s not like Loz was necessary for the end of the movie. He could have been offed early and Tifa could have beaten him) she didn’t do anything else. She cheered on Cloud, clung on to the kiddies and watched from a distance. That’s it.

But Tifa’s always been sorta docile, even in the game. Always following behind Cloud, always wanting him to save her and fix all the problems. I’ve always thought she lacked strength of spirit and considering she’s a martial artists, it just doesn’t fit. It’s why I always thought the creators did a crappy job with her. I think they really wanted your usual video game heroine and forced that role on Tifa even if it didn’t fit.

Yeah true then Cloud had to spend 10 minutes saving her a**, when he could have been using that time fighting/being molested by sephy XP now having THAT in the moive would have been hot!
