I am currently in search of a punk rock band. I know this maybe vague, and I apologize. I have had a sudden burst of intrest in music. More specificly "Punk-rock", and "Emo" I am used to listening to alot of "Mainstream" bands, and I want to hear music from a band that not everyone knows about. I guess my point is I want to listen to someone I havent heard before, and i've heard possible most of the mainstream bands. I again apologize if this seems vague, or even stupid.

A really good thing you can do is go to allmusic.com
Type in a band that you like the sound of and on the profile they give you you'll find a list of "Sounds Like" bands. Or bands they were influenced by. Then you can go from there. You'll be sure to find a lot of bands that have the sound you like but are not well-known.

The only negative is that it has almost no information on bands which don't release albums in the US. Even major foreign groups like Miyavi, Malice Mizer, and DeVotchkas (not to be confused with "The DeVotchkas") don't have pages.

That's when I try wikipedia for band info. 3nodding
