What is your favorite quote from ST?

"Pinocchio is broken. His strings have been cut."
-Riker, TNG: The Measure Of A Man

I have several.

From 'Captain's Holiday', when Picard realizes
why Riker had him buy a Hohrgahn..
"RIKER!"

From 'the Ensigns of Command',
Riker and Picard, once Picard outwitted the Sheliak...
"You ENJOYED that!"
"You're damned RIGHT!"

Worf, on getting the list of instructions for catsitting Spot
(including feeding, water, and "tell him he is a pretty cat...")
"I
WILL
FEED
HIM."

"Captain I must protest.
I am not a merry man!"

Don't recall the episode name, and even though 5 seconds of search engine tells me, I feel that's cheating razz

Yeah, it is.

Yeah! I love that quote! I say it alot... it's funny... I like it when Worf broke Geordie's violin thing too! I like so many things str trek people say it's hard to think of things... oh! I like when Spock says: "If I were human, I believe my response would be, 'Go to hell'... if I were human." Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

The breaking-the-guitar thing was a nod to the movie
"Animal House."
John Belushi's character did that to another guy's guitar-
complete with the "Sorry" at the end.

My favorite quote (I have no idea why) was Picards simple:
"Engage."
Lke I said I have no idea why.

If you've seen both, it's easy to recognize.
In fact, when Worf signalled Geordi to hand him the mandolin,
I already knew he was going to do it! smile

If you want to find the scene in "Animal House",
it's about midway thru the movie, at the toga party.
John Belushi's character "Bluto" Blutarsky always just
acts out and does whatever he wants.
In this scene, there's this "sensitive" guy with a guitar
and a few girls listening to him, on the stairs.

The guy's playing softly and slowly, and singing this old madrigal
right in the middle of a toga party.
(Away from the loud music and crazy people.)
I recognized it from high school English, and you might, too.
Here's the lyrics.
http://ingeb.org/songs/igavemyl.html
He's STARTING the song as Bluto gets to him.
You see Bluto stare, then roll his eyes.
Just as the guy is beginning the third stanza
(he finishes the second word),
Bluto SNATCHED the guitar from him,
SMASHES it one time against the wall (bannister?)
then hands him back what's left.
*shrugs* "Sorry." *walks off*

Some people consider it the best scene in the movie.

My favorite quote is not from the show but from a book called "Spock must die!", which was a fifteen cent novel, and is quite old. It is about how they re-vamp the transporter so that the person doesn't have to really go there, but sends a sort of replica of themself to where they are going. Afterwards the replica is destroyed. That way, nobody's in danger when they have to do a mission. But something goes wrong when Spock tests it.

*Spock was there, all right, and apparently quite unharmed. In fact, he was one hundred percent too much there.
There were two identical Spocks in the tank.*

There are so many great Trek quotes, but one of the all-time best is the Kirk's attempt to rile Spock in "This Side of Paradise"...

~~~~~
KIRK: "All right you mutinous, disloyal, computerized, half-breed, we'll see about you deserting my ship."
"SPOCK: The term 'half-breed' is somewhat applicable, but 'computerized' is inaccurate. A machine can be computerized, not a man."
KIRK: "What makes you think you're a man? You're an overgrown jack rabbit, an elf with a hyperactive thyroid."
SPOCK: "Jim, I don't understand."
KIRK: "Of course you don't understand. You don't have the brains to understand. All you have are printed circuits."
Spock: "Captain, if you'll excuse me."
KIRK: "What can you expect from a simpering, devil-eared freak, whose father was a computer and whose mother was an encyclopedia?"
SPOCK: "My mother was a teacher, my father an ambassador."
KIRK: "Your father was a computer, like his son. An ambassador from a planet of traitors. The Vulcan never lived who had an ounce of integrity."
SPOCK: "Captain, please don't."
KIRK: "You're a traitor from a race of traitors, disloyal to the core, rotten like the rest of your sub-human race -- and you've got the gall to make love to that girl."
SPOCK: "That's enough."
KIRK: "Does she know what she's getting, Spock? A carcass full of memory banks who should be squatting on a mushroom instead of passing himself off as a man. You belong in a circus, Spock, not a starship -- right next to the dog-faced boy."
*in the alternate universe, Kira is trying to get the guard to let her out of a jailcell*
Guard : You sentenced my wife to death.
Alternate Kira : What a coincidence. I was hoping you weren't married.
