"Speaking #8B0000""Thinking #4682B4""Spirit Talking"
”I don’t remember your sad little eyes but you sure had plenty of time to try to haggle a better price, all purchases were final were they not?” A tall slender woman spoke softly while twisting her large distinct knife in the belly of the vendor she deceived. He was driven against the wall held in place by her blade when he attempted to attack the woman in the rust red cloak. ”It didn’t need to end up here, you didn’t need to try to use such a forceful power. However…” She twisted the knife and pushed just a little deeper still toying with the dying man ever so gingerly. Yuliae used her non dominant hand to lower her hood. Her glowing deep red eyes were staring into his dark eyes watching as the little flicker of his life burned out. The man was trying to hold her arm with the last of his strength to keep the knife from finishing him off but it was useless. ”I will grant you my identity so you can come haunt me. My name is Astral, A Princess of Mars.” Her grin stretched brilliantly, she was flat out lying about who she was even if dead men tell no tales, she wasn’t going to let the dead even know who she really was. The man’s body fell, slumped against her left arm and she lowered his corpse and wiped her knife clean on his tattered leather armor. ”That’s another one who discerned my replica… there must be someone who is outing me here.” The red haired woman returned her knife to its holder that was across her chest and put her hood back up.
The abyss of the Uilum Kingdom, the deep of the greediest merchants, thieves, bandits, pirates, mercenaries, whores, and killers. The underbelly, The Black Market. Yuliae was a loner, a Dutchess who worked behind the scenes of her Kingdoms beautiful royals. Her expeditions often took her to the most remote and dangerous places where she would sift through temples, tombs, places of religious importance. Her hobby became her vice when she discovered the beauty in the despair of this vast black market. It was perfect for her because it was like a treasure box you could shake up and discover more and more artifacts, weapons, treasures, so much more. Yuliae started with buying things with proper currency and bartering using the name ‘Astral’ as her Alias and to go a step further she pretended she was a Princess of Mars. A crime to pose as another kingdoms royalty no doubt. However, because almost no one had actually seen a real princess, not to mention she absolutely adored being in the color red, it just fit the crime. Yuliae traveled back to the Inn where she became a temporary resident when she needed to disappear from the streets of the market. It was rooted deep into the market and was the best place for her read through her list of artifacts she was hunting for. It was a filthy place and one of the loudest places she had encountered and it felt like she was at home.
The woman strolled her way through the rough crowd towards the bar stools where she would spot some of the usuals that she got used to. A shorter male with long hair tied up in a high pony was one of her favorites around the market, he always provided her with the best leads and in return she would pay him generously; and even act like a mercenary for him when he wanted someone killed. Vanishing into bright red glittering stars in the middle of the crowd she targeted the man and appeared in his lap straddling him knocking into his drink. The man wore dark tinted glasses and had very clean lined facial hair. His stoic expression never changed as the woman appeared on him, not even a hint of irritation even with his drink almost spilled by her. ”I’m back and I think I figured out who sent that man after me, you?” The man nodded but didn’t say a word at first, ”I did and I needed him dead so I could put my own merchant in his place. A favor for a favor. I knew it would be no problem for you.” He spoke sipping from the cup in his hand and placing his free arm securing Yuliae by the waist pulling her against him more comfortably.
Yuliae’s red eyes stared at his tinted lenses only reflecting her own eyes in them, completely hiding his own. ”Well that’s fair I guess. Next time give them a warning that they are going to meet their death. I was happily browsing and it didn’t look good to the other vendors about this man making a fuss.” she mused. ”Again I am only a self serving man, with how scary you can get I needed to make sure your not a threat to me and my own people while we make moves to take over this place one stall at a time, it’s just business. I…” he was cut off as the woman on his lap snatched his drink and poured it on his head. ”Okay were even now. I am not a threat and its offensive you would say otherwise. Did you have a lead on where I might find that item I asked you to look into?” The man grumbled under his breath as another drink was passed to him, ”Come with me.” He stood up forcing the woman on his lap off and he took her hand pulling her haplessly behind him, they disappeared behind the bar and went through several series of doors.
Yuliae grinned being pulled along behind him a spike of adrenaline snatching a quick drink on her way through the back. ”My my someone is very enthusiastic.” The hidden doorways and guards made for a very good hideout, even for a slum lord wannabe, this operation was clearly making the statement that this gang wanted everything to themselves. It would take someone extremely powerful to run this whole place. When they arrived to the final metal room lined with supplies from ceiling to roof of everything and anything she could imagine. ”So you have been busy! A very well made investment.. I can’t believe you would think I was a threat to you. This is impressive for a wannabe warlord. You have my lead.” the man snapped his fingers and a slave appeared from the shadows carrying a stone box sealed with chains. ”My suspicion is that this box sealed with spirit magic is a good fit for you. It is all the way from the Funkazan temples. I know you were already out there on your expedition last year but it is 1 of 2 pieces, you have the necklace and if I am right the stone has the spirit in it.” Her eyes traced over the box and glowed brilliantly with excitement, wide smile cheek to cheek as the box opened and a bright glow illuminated her face.
