tab Alosa had been outside admiring the flowers. She had a busy day and found herself a quiet little bench where she could stretch her legs out. She wasn't dressed formally this day, she was wearing shorts, a sleeveless shirt and some boots; although she did have a jacket on. She'd been sitting on the bench for about an hour when she felt a chilly breeze flow through, and she shivered as the cold air moved across her legs. " Time to go in!" she chimed softly to herself, sitting up and as she sat up she saw something moving into the bushes. Her own curiosity got the better of her and she walked over, knelt down and pushed them aside only to fall backwards and land on her butt when a snake leapt out at her. She had closed one eye, a quiet cry of surprise escaping her. Her eyes both opened as she looked at the snake, it was moving slower than usual.

tab Thinking back to the books that she'd read about them, and why they were so prominent in her country, they were cold blooded. She gasped and moved to kneel in front of the obviously agitated creature. She pulled her coat off and felt the cold air hitting her warm arms as she shivered. All for the animal, it was worth it! Alosa set her jacket on the ground, slowly sliding it towards the snake that hissed at her, clearly not wanting anything to with the princess. " Come on...I just want to bring you inside so you can be warm..." she murmured, her eyes almost trying to plead with the animal but to no avail. She fully intended to let the snake stay in her room, even if she knew she'd be yelled at for it. Would Luka be pissed? Probably. She didn't particularly care though, for if she could save another creature it would all be worth it.

tab Alosa tried another approach, flipping her jacket over and holding it in front of her. She hesitated, not really wanting to anger the snake further but she was getting frustrated with not knowing what to do. She frowned, sitting down and crossing her legs, staring right back at the snake that for some reason wouldn't take it's eyes off her. She noticed it wouldn't let her get to the bush, but she didn't think much farther than that as she sat out in the darkening light. Wearing a sleeveless shirt, shorts and boots. Her jacket was pressed against her legs as she seemingly was staring down a creature she only wanted to help, but couldn't figure out how.

tab Was she smart enough to stand and look over the snake and see the nest with her eggs in it? Of course not.

"Talking" ' Thoughts.'

Cold weather never suited Draco. It was just a cruel reminder of his origins, the fact he wasn’t a pure-blooded royal like some of the people here. Another terrible part about the colder weather was due to his power. The weather in Thah and Corthyr was much more accommodating for such creatures, there were a few families of snakes around, but Draco felt sure only one or two would survive once Winter came.

It bothered him that he seemingly cared so much about the creatures. It was survival of the fittest and the circle of life. Animals had to die eventually, why should he play God and get in the way of that? That being said, Draco still found himself grabbing a coat to go and check on them. Walking to the courtyard, he swore to himself that the creatures meant nothing to him and were just peer annoyance as he would make his way to classes. ' Once I know they are dead, then I can sleep peacefully without their peskiness.' regretting ever acknowledging the family to begin with.

Making the way to Basil and her children, Draco could hear her bitching someone out. Not unusual behavior for an overprotective mother, Draco respected it seeing as his own was so willing to part with him. ” Back offff b***h.” He heard Basil screech at the familiar figure. Getting closer, he recognized the princess from the night of the explosion. Unfortunately, she was always quickly followed by her bodyguard so Draco never got the chance to properly introduce himself. The look of her backside however was a nice treat, inviting him to further investigate.

" Come on...I just want to bring you inside so you can be warm..."

A small smile crept across Draco’s face against his wishes, ' How simple-minded and stupid can she be?' It appeared to be more than he thought previously. No wonder her “brother” never left her side. It was almost unfair how easy this would be, like shooting fish in a barrel. She showed so much skin and tried to negotiate with a mother snake. Did she have a death wish? The eggs were right behind Basil in clear view, it was like she was trying to get herself bit. Draco would happily sub in if that was the case, hoping to leave a trail of love bites for her brother to discover.

Bending down to be closer to her and Basil, Draco whispered "Don’t take the hate too personally. A mother always wants to protect her nest." Offering a soft smile to the girl as he offered his hand to the pissed-off snake. Bracing himself for what to come next, he confidently kept his hand still. ” Ddd- Draconia…” she hissed as she slithered closer to the boy. Unhinging her jaw and sinking her teeth into his hand, the duke winced. There was a reason he had been avoiding the mother, her hello’s left so little to be desired.

Holding on longer than he hoped he shot her a glare, "If you don’t let me go, I won’t come back again." The warning was enough for her to release and slither quickly back to her nest. A sigh came from his body as he pulled out a bandage from his jacket pocket and placed it over the marks as they started to draw blood, " She’s so predictable I would almost laugh if I was currently bleeding. Thankfully, she’s not venomous, greetings like that in my homeland would leave some men saying their final goodbyes." looking back at the princess once more, attempting to gauge her reaction to the sight.

If she was as dull and simple as he pictured the sight was probably enough for her to pity him. Not that he wanted her pity, but it was an in. The night of the explosion, she had piqued his curiosity, and he was cautiously waiting for an opportunity like this to arrive. Still bent down he flashed another smile as he whispered, "Fancy seeing you again, my lady. I was hoping we could meet again under better circumstances; Draco Serpiente." There was a slight pinch of pain in his hand as he held it out for the girl but attempted to ignore it for the time being.

tab Alosa didn't realize that Draco had arrived as her focus was on the snake in front of her. She wasn't entirely naive, she knew it could be dangerous, that was why she was trying to use her jacket! So when she heard quiet footsteps, she looked to her side and saw Draco as he knelt down and whispered to her. " Protect her nest...?" she murmured, her eyes shifting back and up a little, her eyes widening as she realized exactly why the snake had been so angry. She immediately felt like an idiot and she sighed. " No wonder..." she had turned her gaze back over to the duke just in time to see the mother snake biting down on his hand. She let out a surprised gasp, concern filling her expression but his...unphased almost angry reaction to the snake holding on and even further the creature letting go when he threatened it, made her wonder. She tilted her head, looking at the man as she listened to him talking about how the mother snake was non-venomous and she sat back on her boots a little more. " I see..."

tab Alosa didn't know how to place it, something about him screamed danger. She never let that worry her before, and for some reason he reminded her of Ivan, and not entirely because of the fact that she found them both extremely attractive. Sure they were dangerous, but they didn't mean to really hurt her. She didn't understand entirely why she had the sense to trust the man in front of her, maybe it was because he willingly put his hand out for a snake to bite him or because he saved her from ending up bitten in the first place.

tab The princess seemed to come out of her dazed thoughts as she realized that Draco's hand was now bleeding and he didn't seem to be phased by it. " Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for you to get hurt instead of me...I mean..." the girl trailed off, flustered about not only her thoughts but the situation. " I should have paid more attention...I hope she knows that I didn't mean to be a threat." her pink eyes shifted back to the snake that was now curled up in her nest and she frowned a little. Wait, how did he get the snake to let go of him? She was talking to her and the snake did nothing but hiss at her. " How did you do that? Can you talk to them or something? Oh, if you can, can you tell her I'm sorry?" the words came out faster than she anticipated before she made herself pause. she had pulled her jacket back, pulling it on over her shoulders, hands sliding through the sleeves. She didn't want to overwhelm him with her questions, nor make a bad....what, second impression? she certainly didn't do a good job the first time. When he introduced himself she couldn't help but smile a little, despite bleeding a little he still extended his hand and acted like a gentleman. Just like the night there was the explosion.

tab Alosa set her hand against his gently, being careful not to make his injury any worse as she smiled up at him from her unladylike position she was sitting in. " Alosa L'eau! It's nice to formally meet you again." she replied cheerfully, before she let go of his hand. " Since you got injured because of me...why don't I help you bandage it up? I have supplies in my room if you want to come with me." she felt guilty for him getting hurt not only just in general, but especially because of her. She never wanted to be the reason anyone had injures. She looked back over to Basil for a moment before she pushed off the ground to stand up, dusting off her legs. She smiled over at Draco, hoping he accept her offer as she'd feel much better about the whole situation if he accepted her help.

" Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for you to get hurt instead of me...I mean… I should have paid more attention...I hope she knows that I didn't mean to be a threat."

Was she trying to get him to disagree with her? Why would he? It would only just make her think that her actions were justified instead of an act of stupidity. It was utterly stupid of her to think that she could get a snake to listen to her. It was safe to assume that she wasn’t from Thah or Corthyr despite not knowing her country of origin. If Basil was more bitchy and venomous, the girl would be dead. But it seemed like that concept was too difficult for her to grasp considering she was still sitting out here in the cold with him instead of immediately offering him a place in her bed. It appeared that it would take more than a simple gesture for his plan.

" How did you do that? Can you talk to them or something? Oh, if you can, can you tell her I'm sorry?"

A dumb smile filled Draco’s face, she was so simple-minded it wasn’t even fair. "Yes, something like that. I’ll do my best to deliver the message but Basil is a bit… temperamental at the moment." looking over at the mother snake who was protecting her nest while staring daggers at the girl. She seemed almost jealous; Draco tried his best not to roll his eyes at the thought. It was her fault that she wasn't receiving any of his attention, if she didn't need to be so aggressive he would have considered helping her with Alosa. But for now, he would let her stew.

" Alosa L'eau! It's nice to formally meet you again. Since you got injured because of me...why don't I help you bandage it up? I have supplies in my room if you want to come with me."

Maybe he was wrong before. It was just too easy. Her hands were soft in his, and tiny too, "Well, aren’t you just the sweetest? I do appreciate that." Faking kindness and humility was never something Draco struggled with. It was one of the first things he learned from his father, he wasn’t kind to most but if he wasn’t one of the most charming people you ever met. There was a reason that despite working little in the military, he managed to weasel his way to the upper class. It was a story to aspire to.

As the girl took her hand away and stood up, Draco did his best not to peek at the girl’s backside despite it seeming like a welcome invitation to do so. Did she know how much she was leading herself to her own heartbreak? Standing up to join her, he offered a soft smile, " You’re too kind, caring about a stranger like me. You must come from a lovely family." Doing his best to inquire deeper into the girl’s life. There were rules against this sort of thing but, he doubted she remembered them. Even if she did, he was sure she wouldn't report him.

Looking back at Basil, who seemed to still be quite distraught, maybe it would be better if he came back to check on her. Not that he needed to, he didn’t care about that stupid snake and her babies. Especially when there was a potential princess in front of him, ready for him. After some of his best moves, he was sure she would be nothing but putty in his hands. Returning his vision to the cutesy brunette in front of him helped remind him of his goal, assisted by the slight pain in his hand, "Please, lead the way, my lady."

tab Alosa listened as Draco seemed to have a big smile on his face. She saw nothing wrong with this as she smiled back at him, before her pink eyes flickered back over to Basil. She almost deflated a little at how much the snake was staring at her and even the water princess could tell that it wasn't out of good intentions. She did, however, attempt to take her away from her nest so she could understand that much at least. The princess knew she could be a little dense sometimes but she genuinely didn't mean to be.

tab When she had shook his hand, she was surprised by how large it was compared to her own. Reminded her of a certain other man, was she just small compared to those around her? She probably was. Her hands were even small compared to Luka's. " I try to be!" the princess had no idea how she was playing into his hands, and she genuinely thought she was helping out a kind stranger. He had been so kind to her the night of the explosion, that she was happy she had a chance to see him again without Luka lurking around the corner. She didn't understand what her brother's concern was! Once they were both standing she had a wide smile on her face, shaking her head. " Please don't worry about it, you got in harms way for me, even if you had the advantage of being able to talk to her." she said, but at the mention of her family she rubbed the back of her head. Her family was currently a fluid thing, with the addition of a brother and the events of that night.

tab Oh, he didn't know. He was removed from the situation before she had seen her sister, either of her sisters. She nodded her head as a quick response to his mention of family to prevent things from becoming too down. " Oh yes! And with the newest realization of my having a brother, it's even better!" she looked over at Basil for a brief moment before she heard his last words.

tab "Please, lead the way, my lady."

tab Alosa nodded her head as she waved a hand to the disgruntled snake mother. " Of course! Right this way." she was planning on heading there anyway so it worked out very well. She headed back indoors and as she walked, she glanced over her shoulder at Draco for a moment before looking back ahead. He was perfectly kind, there was no reason for Luka to be worried about her. She was in perfectly safe hands right now. Thankfully her room wasn't too far down the girl's corridor, and she pushed the door open for him before she walked in and she realized she'd left out the blankets from when she and Phi had their last sleepover. " Oh, my apologies for the mess. My friend and I had a sleepover here the other night, I wasn't anticipating bringing a man to my room!" her words were teasing, her tone light. She didn't anticipate that he might take her words with a bit more of an edge than she originally intended.

tab She opened the door to her bathroom as she called out into her room. " Make yourself at home! I'll be right out." as Alosa gathered the supplies the thought she might need the thought that she invited a man to her room flickered across her mind, but not long enough to make a lasting impact before she was distracted by focus on getting the supplies. She had walked back out and sat on her bed, pulling the jacket off and tossing it to the side. She patted the bed and smiled. " Come here and I'll get you fixed up." she said softly, holding her hand out for his again.

"Talking" ' Thoughts.'
Ah yes, her brother. Draco’s eyebrow nearly twitched at his mention. That night was ultimately a mess but the white-haired c**k block's arrival was what started it all. This time there wouldn’t a chance for him to get in the way of his plans. After today, Alosa would be safely wrapped around his finger for him to call upon if needed. All of these bothersome niceties would be worth it once he made his way to her room. It was clear that she was more than easy to manipulate.

Her room was nothing to write home about, a bit childish if anything. There were a few blankets scattered on the floor but no extreme messes. Nothing like he used to see when his mother had to clean houses and castles. Some royals were lazy slobs and it just made Draco sick. If this was a mess in her eyes then it was safe to say that was not the case for Alosa. " A sleepover? What fun. I haven’t had one of those in years."He replied playfully while thinking something far less kind, ' Or ever.'

Was it possible Little Miss Innocent really was this blind? No wonder there was a whole swarm that flocked to her on the night of the explosion. The girl had no sense of danger or survival skills. If Draco wasn’t trying so hard to bed her, he would almost feel bad. But pity was a waste of his time. He came to Utopia to make connections and he intended to use everything he had to his advantage.

As she made the way to her bathroom Draco did his best to make himself comfortable but opted to just stand by the door to not seem too presumptuous. It was hard when the room gave him bad vibes. There were pictures of her and some random pink-head, whom he assumed was her sister, but none of her brother. ' Strange… So that soap opera display was real.' Unsure if that was better than it just being a show for drama. Both ideas left a bad taste in his mouth but it seemed like there was more going on in the young princess’ life than he originally thought. ' How fortunate for me…' Nearly licked his lips as he thought about how he could use this in order to gain favor with her.

Making her way back from the bathroom, Draco did his best to appear pleased to see her. It was much easier once she made her way to the bed and took off her jacket, leaving very little to the imagination. The invitation to join her on the bed made him more than excitedly, eagerly walking over and taking his flannel jacket off, placing it gently next to the bed. It felt foolish for him to fake injuring considering he was no longer bleeding anymore but if this was the game he had to play he was more than willing to play his role, placing his previously injured hand in hers, " The bleeding has faded but I think the pain is still there."

The next moves had to be well coordinated so as to not scare her off. " Any way you could help distract me from the pain?" He asked, throwing his best innocent smile he could her way. He wanted her to beg for him to bed her. Nothing would be worse than him coming all this way for her to just play coy. " Maybe we could have a sleepover." he whispered softly in her ear before letting out a small chuckle, his breath touching her skin as he spoke. It felt cheesy to say but that might be what she needed.

tab As Alosa closed the door behind her and Draco, she couldn’t help but laugh under her breath and nod her head. ” It was fun! Especially after everything that’s been going on lately.” she pushed her hair back over her shoulder as she headed into the bathroom, thinking to herself while she gathered the supplies. She couldn’t believe how lucky she had gotten, he was so nice to her despite her placing herself in danger. She knew it was probably blind luck that she kept getting help from people with her best interest in mind, but maybe it would keep going! Right? She smiled to herself in the mirror before heading back out and making her way to the bed. She already felt like she was overheating, so she had taken her jacket off and smiled at Draco as he took his own flannel off. She understood, it was chilly outside but in her room was nice and warm.

tab As he placed his hand in hers, she gently flipped it over as she looked down at it. Sure enough, he’d stopped bleeding, but she didn’t know if the snake had left any germs or anything. She didn’t know enough about the animal. As she ran her fingers softly over the bite, she seemed to process his question. Distract him from the pain? She hummed as she lifted her eyes up to his, his smile throwing her off as a light blush covered her cheeks. Had he always looked so handsome? ’ No, Alosa get your head together.’ She thought to herself before smiling back and nodding her head. ” I can do that! I’d be more than happy to distract you, what do you like to do?” she asked, taking this both as an opportunity to get to know him and help him out too, considering he only got bit because of her.

tab Alosa didn’t seem to notice right away that she was still holding his hand, but she felt her cheeks flushing more as she came to the realization. He wasn’t bleeding anymore, he didn’t need her to keep holding his hand. She moved her hands away and smiled apologetically as she let them rest on her lap. She felt her breath catching in her chest as he leaned forward and whispered in her ear. She wasn’t expecting him to get so close, nor was she expecting his breath to be so hot. His words made her think for a second before she smiled and nodded her head. ” We could! I don’t know if you’d need anything, but I don’t mind waiting for you.” she knew Ophelia had brought some of her own things, so she figured he would need to as well.

tab She thought to herself about what they could do, and it seemed to dawn on her that she didn't know much about him. She basically knew his name, and she could hear her brother's voice in the back of her mind saying to tell him to leave but she pushed that voice down as she shifted and folded her feet underneath her as she sat on them softly. " I don't know much about you, so why don't we start there?" she suggested with a smile, she was excited to get to know more about him, about how his experience had been. She adjusted again slightly, pulling her hair over one shoulder as she focused on him a little more. " Lets see..." she placed her finger on her chin gently as she hummed before she looked up at him. " ...what do you do when we're not in school? I like to go swimming, or just be near the water." she started by being honest herself, her pink eyes curious to see what his answer was.

"Talking" ' Thoughts.'

Damn, this girl was dense. He had done all but shoved her onto the bed but she still couldn’t tell what he had come here for. There was no way that she was truly this dumb, was she? There had to be some sort of game she was playing. Was it possible that she making guys work for the pleasure of her company? Disgusting. Draco had to hold back a scoff thinking about whether or not the tease was worth this much effort.

The small blush forming on her face confirmed his suspicions. Her cheery rebuff to his coy attempts at flirting was enough to make him want to pin her to the bed now to show her how this would work if that’s the game she wanted but that wasn’t the reason why he was here. The reason he had studied meticulously for hours and observed his father so carefully was so that he would be able to get away with doing little to no work. He hadn’t come to Utopia to ******** around, he was here to do work, make connections and that’s what he intended to do here. No matter how idiotic this broad was being. Once he had her at his hip, then maybe he would start to get more pull in the royal community.

Now she was even offering to wait for him? She was clearly mocking him. There was no way in hell she thought he actually was asking to sleep over, was she? Alosa was making Draco play mental gymnastics trying to figure out whether or not she was playing dumb or if she truly was. If it was a game, she was a mastermind and would be a great resource to have at his disposal. A small smirk befell him as he thought about how he could just tell her that his room was too far a walk, curiously wondering how she could play her way out of that.

But instead, it seemed like Alosa wanted to pry more into his personal life. So, she liked to swim? Draco could figure out what was more fascinating, that she was clearly from Stilicidium or that she was stereotype from it. " Swimming huh? How interesting. I am not much one for the water." he held back a laugh, that was an understatement. Before coming to Utopia he had never even gone swimming before. There wasn’t as much time for “fun” back home. Just studying and networking. Then repeat. But that wasn’t very engaging.

" I have always enjoyed reading but my secret is that I love animals." It wasn’t even a lie but it felt perverted to say. His Thah nature was something that he always repressed, the worst thing he could do is imply he was from there. Rats, how had she already broken him with her playful smile and round eyes? He had to distract her attention before she could start putting pieces together. " Enough about me though, you’re the one I feel like everyone wants to know." He forced out a playful laugh after he spoke to not awake any suspicion.

Maybe being more forward would help her realize his reason for coming here. He didn’t want to shove his tongue down her throat but her mindless games were becoming tedious. He slid his hand to be closer to hers on the bed, " The night we originally met it was almost like you were a celebrity. Not that I am shocked that someone of your beauty would cause such a fuss."
