THE VANISHING
This is the first major event in our pride meta. This event (The Vanishing) will last from August 1st to October 1st.
To emphasize realism in the pride and the current state the pride is in, every Saturday there will be an small update posted in this thread.

Following the conversation held in a pridal meeting to address the Growing Concerns of the lioness surrounding the ill-timed exit of the territory's resident and migratory herds, the Abaholi—backed by Umama Ukwazi—have ordered all able-bodied to scout the outer edges of the pride's current location for signs of herd movements in hopes of moving the pride ahead of schedule to secure a more stable food source. While this command is primarily directed to those with vulture companions; the Cinga and Aenda of the Bonelands, there was emphasis put that all lions must do their part in different ways.

PRIDE INFORMATION
This information is static and will not change for the duration of the meta.

Weather/Location
As the long dry season continues to beat down on the Ithambo'hlabathi, the temperatures are reaching 18°C/64°F in the morning and 31°C/88°F in the afternoon, taking hours to cool into the evening. Warm air from the northern desert prolongs this cooling, taking until the early AM for temperatures to drop to a more comfortable degree. In an effort to stay out of the heat and to conserve as much energy as possible, the pride remains centrally located in the Ithambo'hlabathi; roughly a day trip west of the land's regional lake while simultaneously positioning themselves strategically close to the sole known herd in the Ithambo'hlabathi; a herd of zebra, roughly thirty heads in size. Most predators are not gutsy enough to pick a fight with the lean pride, but the occasional brave jackal or wild dog is not uncommon.

Herd Status
The sole remaining zebra herd consisting of 30 individuals roams the shrublands to the west, roughly two days from the pride's current location. Some of the herd's mares are noticeably pregnant, a welcome sign for the lean pride. For now, the herd seems stationary, choosing to roam in a rough circle around the pride's current locations, always two to three days out until they approach the lake to drip, at which point the herd can be seen after only a few hours at a moderate pace.

At least one Umholi is seen patrolling the lands near this herd at all times, sometimes accompanied by an Inselelo or Ahluke.

OOC RULES
1. Everyone may participate. You do not have to own a Bonelander or be part of the pride to participate, but there are requirements to do so.
2. All roleplays must meet the minimum requirements for the roleplay to count as a breeding roleplay of 1,000 words and 5 individual posts (not applicable for solo RPs).
3. All roleplays must be completed to be eligible for point redemption.
4. You may earn as many points as you would like.

IC RULES
★ These are more suggestions and guidelines than true rules.

PROMPT SETS
★ Cinga and Aenda may choose to use the prompts corresponding with their rank or the general prompts for adolescents and adults.
★ All other ranks will use the general prompts for adolescents and adults.

(Cinga/Enda) Your travels have taken you far from the body of the pride. Your paws take you in all directions, as far as the horizon stretches. On your travels, you may come across...
      1. You find scat belonging to a lion. It is weeks old.
      2. You find a snake hidden beneath a rock overhang. (Bonus Event!)
      3. You find a swarm of vultures picking at the body of a wildebeest. It is more than half-eaten. You are too far and it is too heavy to drag home.
      4. You come across a rogue lion! (Bonus Event!)

(Adol/Adult) Your paws may not take you to far-off, foreign lands, but during the night, you still wander all the same—albeit much closer, a day's travel at most—in hopes of finding something...
      1. You find a mostly consumed zebra foal. It is little more than a snack.
      2. You find a starving wild dog. It is defensive of the small kill it is protecting. (Bonus Event!)
      3. You find the bones of a (prey animal of choice). The carcass has long been picked clean.
      4. You find a satellite herd made of a dozen zebra. (Bonus Event!)

Bonus Event: Use this list and reference your second dice roll to find your Bonus Event. Some Bonus Events have Penalties. See below for an explanation.
      1. Nothing else happens.
      2. You are attacked! (Penalty!)
      3. You are exhausted. (Penalty!)
      4. You are attacked and manage to subdue your attacker. (Bonus +2 points to total)

Penalties: Some Bonus Events come with Penalties associated with them. There are two kinds of Penalties. You may pick which your character receives. Imbiza are immune to Penalties.
      A. You are injured and must heal. One (1) RP must be completed surrounding this task. This RP may be done either Solo or with another player. If the healing RP is with a Imbiza, you are immune to your next Penalty roll. Bonus +1 points to your total.
      B. You are exhausted and must rest. You must wait until the next Update (Saturday) to be able to roll again with this character.

August 7th, 2022 - Update #1

There have been no new discoveries made, but the pride is getting leaner by the day. The singular zebra herd will not last the season, especially not if there are no others to hunt from. Difficult decisions are on the horizon. For now, the pride is strong, working well together as they patrol the fringes of the Ithambo'hlabathi. To this end, Umholi Umkhombo has joined a grouping of lionesses heading south, passed the Scar, and towards the open plains. The expedition will take weeks. He will be gone from the pride until September.

Tawa'shilah, a former Inselelo, turned Ahluke, has left the pride. he was seen speaking with Umholi Faust some days ago before departing entirely. There was no word on why he left, but there is speculation (turned to rumor) within the pride's gossip cycle that he left due to the strain feeding a lion of his size has been putting on the lionesses of the pride. (OOC: Ehluke are not being kicked from the pride!)

The remaining Abaholi work in rotations patrolling the territory around the resident zebra herd, ensuring its survival and protection from other predators. They are often accompanied by an Inselelo, Ahluke, or rarely, one of the Qyrhy lionesses.

Other News
A hunt on a solitary wildebeest was successful. Most in the hunting party assume it from the scattered herd from the earthquake that caused the Scar. However, not all were left unscathed before the beast fell.
+ These lionesses have each earned 1 point for the Meta. You may redeem it here. (Does not count as meta participation.)

Amancane -- (owned by Andranis) -- suffered a minor injury; a laceration from a stray hoof on her shoulder.
Yithemba -- (owned by oo DeD) -- suffered a major injury; thrown from the wildebeest's back, walks with a temporary limp
