Though she yet avoided Hatchings, Elibrie had dutifully attended every Feast this Turn in spite of the sometimes difficult feelings - it had always been hard not to be reminded of the one for Kesucianth and his siblings, which for her had felt anything but a celebration. What little she'd even seen of it, mostly for the sake of seing her sister. But this time, Oranie had Impressed, and that was something she could feel genuinely happy about...and there was no longer someone far away for her to miss and worry over. The first thing she had done, of course, was find her sister, and meet and gush over Sondhroth, but eventually, she'd let her go. This was her Hatching Feast, after all, and she couldn't monopolize all of her time. She had other weyrlings to mingle with, and other friends and family to see, if she wished it.

As did she. Elibrie smoothed out the front of her dress - not that it needed it, but it still felt rather odd to be wearing it. She'd long been using and re-using the simple gather dress she'd been Searched in, but she'd finally caved and accepted her aunt's offer to browse her wardrobe with Oranie in case there was something they might like. Much of it had been rather intimidating for Elibrie, but some of the older things had been closer to her tastes, and with a few adjustments here and there, a dark blue dress with white fur trim suited her well enough. There was just enough chill in the evenings now, at least, that it wasn't entirely uncalled-for. Nonetheless, it still seemed a bit much, compared to what she was used to, but there wasn't a plunging neckline to worry about, or a more attention-grabbing color, so it certainly could have been worse. Doubts or no, though, she was in it now, and there was no running back to her weyr to change into the more familiar. Lullaby was quite happy with it, though, nuzzling into the fur about the collar.

She reached up absently to scritch at her companion, and set to looking for a man and his wher. Assuming they were present, they surely couldn't be hard to find.

If Juhvek had avoided the hatching there would have been few people who blamed him. But he'd taken it in stride - the lack of gnashing teeth had helped, of course, but Juhvusk had remained at his side, rumbling with support and love the entire time. It wasn't a dragon's love, but it was more meaningful than simply being alone.

Not that Cuddle Girl or Little Lady would have had any ideas of leaving him alone when he always had a lap available to them.

Oranie's impression had made the entire affair well worth whatever emotional turmoil he battled with. A fine little white who wanted nothing but her and one less loved-one for him to worry about upon the sands. Now he'd simply worry about them during training. During Threadfall. It made him feel a little powerless, of course, but...

The feast was for celebrations and once Juhvek had made his rounds, he'd been found a nice place to be settled into and kept somewhat out-of-the-way. It wasn't that his caretaker thought he made better side-dressings. Simply that he didn't have the mobility to get around crowds and people and there were a lot of both.

It would be Juhvusk that found Elibrie for him, snapping his jaws and making a 'hwooornk' sort of a noise as he navigated back through people to where his handler was waiting.

It was on occasions like this that she dearly missed when Kesucianth had been small, able to be at her side at all times, even if she no longer needed the absolute lifeline he'd been in those early days, the constant love and reassurance and grounding. Not that he wasn't still all those things even when they weren't physically close, but she missed reaching down to stroke his headknobs, and the way he'd rested his head in her lap, or curling up with him on her cot. Seeing all the hatchlings weaving their way through the crowd with their new riders brought those memories right to the fore, and it was hard not to get a bit distracted by her own thoughts as she looked for her friend.

Fortunately, Juhvusk soon found her, and she beamed at the sight of him, greeting him with a bright "Hello!" which she'd have happily paired with a scritch or a kiss if he'd not immediately been off to lead her to his handler. Elibrie followed readily, always eager to see Juhvek - the novelty of him being home was a long way from wearing off, if it ever would at all.

"He's getting very good at finding me," she noted with fondness when she arrived, looking up from the wher to give Juhvek a soft smile and burying the hint of nervousness that wanted to flutter up. He looked none the worse for wear for having attended the Hatching; he was far braver than she was, certainly.
