A cloud of melancholy had come upon Aresoth in such a way that it took the bronze a bit to even put a name to what he felt. Drills, Sweeps and Patrols were run normally though everything was done with a bit of routine to it. There was still a vigor to fight the enemy that threatened them all but at the same time, a bit of sadness that tinged the edges of it as well.
The majority of this feeling that had so blindsided him had been the loss of Takarath. While his sire had been around Aresoth had not understood just how much he had taken that feeling for granted. Of having both his dam and sire still upon this planet, still available to speak to if he ever needed them.
He was not close to many of his siblings as they were with one another but that never meant that family was not important to him. He had mourned for those taken from their clutch too early, grieved for Thanoth when her wings were lost. They were his family and as a bronze there were times he felt as if he should protect them, or he should have helped to prepare them a bit better then they were now.
These feelings continued onto his own clutch as well, his own children grown already and fighting in the enemy with him. They were capable adults but that did not mean that Aresoth did not like to check in on them, even if he did not speak to all of them.
This day all of these thoughts that had plagued him for more then a seven day continued through his mind. He lay upon the fire heights, enjoying the sun upon his hide before he reached out to one of his own. Vardoth, if you are free would you mind to join me?

The very round blue dragon had been settled on his own ledge, dozing lightly while he awaited the return of Zadelraheth. He had no reason to expect a summons, but when his father reached out, he stirred immediately. Eyes whirling a bright green, the blue dragon gave a languid stretch, before deciding that time with Aresoth was worth the effort.
His was down in the dining hall, and would likely not need him so soon. So it was, the blue dragon gave a happy thrum, and reached out to his metallic sire. I am quite free, and would be happy to do so. It took a few moments--but Vardoth was not the sort of blue ever be in much of a hurry--before he pushed himself off his ledge and sought out Aresoth on the fireheights.
Thankfully, the bronze dragon wasn't difficult to miss. His pale bronze hide, with the dark stained nose, was always a dead giveaway. Part of Vardoth did wonder though, what he might wish--since graduation he felt the only clutchmate he saw with any regularity was Zadelraheth. It was a nice change though, and one the pudgy blue was more than happy to take advantage of. He settle down not far from the bronze, but did wind up inching closer with a happy croon. He was quite smaller than Aresoth--buth he didn't mind. He was just a blue, after all.
I hope the sun has been generous today and you've had nothing but clear skies. He mused, settling near so he could also soak up the heat of Rukbat. The fireheights did, admittedly, get much more sun than his shady ledge.
