Nanuth? Mictecath had long since made a habit of night-time visits to loved ones, from the days of her weyrlinghood. Even now she enjoyed cuddling with others, and when there were no guests on her ledge her hearts and soul tended to wander with the waking of the stars. May I visit? For once in her life, she did not wish to overstep.

Mictecath was, at her core, a loving dragon. In that moment, fear threatened to overpower the love, to shun it, or cast it out; fear that her beloved brother would turn away from her for her choice. Days later, she played the flight over in her mind. Iweth was a charming, loving daydreamer, but the many possibilities of her potential choices endlessly repeated, keeping her from restful sleep. Would Nanuth have been a better choice? What about any of the others who had captivated her hearts?

She needed his gentle reassurance. She needed his calm, soothing logic. She needed to know that he loved her still. Mictecath needed him to know that he was forever part of her hearts- and if he was willing, he would be part of her children’s hearts.

Nanuth had been thinking a lot about the flight over the past days as well. He had come back to his ledge irritated, wondering why in the world she would have picked Iweth. He had laid there feeling salty, going over what he could have done differently. Maybe he should have flown better, maybe he hadn't had the right words..maybe freezing when she roared had looked bad. It had played over and over again in his mind, wondering if she had been upset with him..had he done something wrong during the flight?

A while after the flight, once his little light had come off her high, she helped him work through it. The brown couldn't argue that he had given it his best shot during the flight. Also, he admitted that Iweth was known for being quite charming, so his words might have swayed Mictecath. Not to mention, they still hadn't figured out how he would have caught her. While he was sure there was a way, he had seen his sister was tired and he couldn't honestly say he would have been much support this particular time. He knew he would get to be a father someday, he felt certain a solution would present itself, but perhaps she made the best choice for the time being.

So when he heard her voice as he rested on his ledge one night, he lifted his head gently. He could hear the fear in her voice, something that did not come from her often. Thankfully, the other brown was off somewhere, so he had room for her.

Of course you can, my golden beauty. It is a beautiful night, isn't it?he asked. He lifted his wing, as a way to indicate she was more than welcome. Then he lowered it, since he knew she was bigger, so it would be he under her wing.
