Somewhere in the middle ground between asleep and awake, Akaris sighed and snuggled closer to R'lyr, in spite of the warmth of the summer afternoon. It wasn't hot enough to make cuddling unappealing, at least, which was just as well - flightlust was a wonderful thing, sure, but missing out on the cuddles after would have been a tragedy. She did have to give Mictetath credit for her timing, going up when she had; they'd probably been spared half a day of work or so, if not more, since most were slow to get going after a goldflight. It was probably somewhere past lunchtime, if she had to guess, but she wasn't worried about it either way. They had plenty of time, she was sure.
Outside, Samodith was curled up close to the edge of the ledge she often shared with Andelath, significantly less content than Hers. Goldflights made her irritable - they always made a part of her want to take to the sky, but she refused to settle for someone else's leftovers, or be a consolation prize. And they reminded her of things she couldn't have - though none were the obvious an outsider might assume, as she had no great fascination with eggs - so it was all far more feelings than she cared to be having, thank you. It did not make her very good company.

Akaris fairly purred contentment, in spite of her dragon's own mood - she knew it well, but also knew that Samodith neither expected nor wanted her to be subjected to the same. Long gone were the days the green had liked to needle her about settling for one man and one man only, while they both knew very well that she could have near anyone she wanted, if she put her mind to it: a wingleader, perhaps, someone destined to go places, rather than just a brownrider. But things had happened, and Samodith...understood, to some extent, and could appreciate that at least one of them could have what made them happy.
The intrusion of a voice into her brooding thoughts flashed Samodith's eye red for a moment, before it settled back to merely an irritated orange. While she didn't care who had ultimately caught Mictetath, whether bronze or brown, sibling or cousin or other, the flight had stirred unpleasant memories of the one before it, which had left her miserable, bitter, and resentful...with an undertone of guilt for feeling that way, and the frustration that had plagued her far longer than it hadn't. Distantly, in spite of her mood, she appreciated that Andelath hadn't chased - though their relationship was ambiguous at best, that he had stayed went some way toward soothing the part of her that had come to resent those who weren't like her, the ones she thought had been and then...gone on to be entrapped by one and one alone, leaving her behind and confused.
To kill something, she answered finally. It was, at present, the only acceptable outlet for her frustrations, but would require their riders to be more awake, as two healthy adult dragons eating from the feeding pens was like to be frowned upon. And, quite frankly, eating was a secondary objective at best. When they are up, we will go hunting.

Akaris made her own soft noise at the nuzzling at her neck, and cuddled closer still...or at least made the attempt, even if it was more of a slight repositioning than anything, a little wriggle against him. She loved slow mornings - or afternoons, as it were - like this, and there were never enough of them. While she'd not trade being a rider for anything, it certainly did keep them very busy. Even restdays didn't lack for things to do, when bonded to a dragon. "Like this," she answered, with little need for consideration. "Lunch can wait awhile."
It could wait until dinner, for all she cared at the moment, though she knew at the very least Samodith would want her up before then.
The larger the better, she decided, still far from relaxed but partially succeeding in distracting herself with hunting plans. That will be much more satisfying.
