How had he lost so much of this, lost what little ground he had managed to gain...There was a desperation to his movements almost as he pushed himself harder and further doing his best to reach for her.

Mictecath had dodged away from him, escaped his grasp, put on speed to pull away, but so too had she crooned to him, called to him. How could Iweth give up now when he had been so close? When she still beckoned him to join her, follow her further, further, just a little bit further still? She demanded so much... His chest burned, his wings ached, he felt he had never flown so far or long before—but she must be exhausted too. He could see it in every line of her body, how her wings trembled as they thrashed the air. For her he found that deep-buried store of energy, for her he would be strong for a bit longer, as long as it took. If you're unsure if I'll disappear, Mictecath, I'm not going anywhere—for you I'm always going to be a safe place to land, like the ground beneath your feet.
He might not be the biggest or the fastest; the strongest, the smartest, or the one closest to her hearts, but Iweth knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he loved her, and that if she chose him, he would catch her and carry her safe back down to the Weyr so far below. He gave a final, brassy, trilling call to try to catch her attention, to turn her head. She was still out of reach, but he stretched out all the same, claws opening, eyes beaming in pure purple love and wonder. If your hearts were made of glass, if they fell apart then I'd glue them back... But I'm always going to break your fall—if you let me be your safety net, I'll always be your tried-and-true when your wings give out on you, Mictecath...!

Every time he felt her presence, Yihoth could swear his hearts skipped a beat or two. She was just so warm and kind--every bit a magnificent queen, without a doubt. He could only hope that he'd given her the show she'd asked for, or at least enough to entertain her for a while. By now, though, he's fallen far out of position, and he's somewhat at a loss for how to get back to where he'd been. Yihoth kept going all the same, shrugging off the dull ache starting to seep into his muscles. Mictecath would decide soon enough, but the when of it was entirely her discretion; until then, he'd stay as close as he could.
Brown Yihoth summary : A massive (literally) sweetheart with a down-home sense of hospitality and kindness, Yihoth is a gentle giant who's commonly described as a thoughtful, considerate dragon. Unfortunately, he can be a bit of a doormat due to how much he wants to please others, and isn't so great at standing up for himself. She kept urging him to come closer - I want to show you something more she seemed to say. Yet he kept failing to fly as well as older, more experienced suitors. A shortcoming he was painfully noticing but refused to allow himself to linger on.
He pushed himself closer, as much as he could amongst better fliers who could perhaps touch her hearts the way they needed to be. Khazariath did not regret answering her call, no matter how the chase would end. For a moment, he could at least feel he'd been special enough for her to say she saw him.
Khazariath is wise beyond his Turns, carrying himself with learned and practiced grace and nobility. He is a paranoidly cautious dragon who does not take spur-of-the-moment risky leaps. He also has 0 romantic love for the ladies, but does desire to be a father.

Nanuth was so very close, he felt like he could just reach out and touch her tail at this point. Then came Mictecath's roar, which caused him to stall there in the air for a moment. He felt Misty's assurance below him, reminding him he probably scared her. He knew she could feel everything and he allowed himself to get the annoyance at himself for pausing for even a moment out of his system. Which almost threatened to boil over when he saw a bronze he had passed and another get ahead of him. However, the moment he saw that Mic was tiring, the orange in his eyes faded into purple. He knew she was pushing herself to the limit, so even if he was not where he wanted to be, he would too. It helped when he felt that familiar and loving touch, knowing this meant too much. This moment was too important, he was not going to stop now, not if he could help it. And no matter what happened, he would be there through whatever she needed him there for. Right now, it seemed she needed the same encouragement she was so wonderful to give them.
Keep your eyes locked on mine, and let the music be your guide. Every turn will be safe with me, don't be afraid, afraid to fall. You know I will catch you through it all. Nanuth: He is not the most social of dragons, but those who he is close to, he is a mountain of love and strength. He has a good dose of courage, but sometimes he gets a little too full of himself. He can get upset over things, so it takes Zamistia to keep his temper in check. When his loved ones are in danger, he will do everything he can to protect them. (Misty will be in her weyr with her weyrmate, but will get in thoughts here and there)

With the push to climb ever higher, ever faster, Alarasith's wings began to burn with the ache of having been pushed ever nearer to their limits. This coupled with the odd swerve of other suitors into his periphery or airspace caused a flare of frustrated aggravation to flare in the small bronze along with the urge to turn and lash out at the next intruder into his airspace. He snorted, shaking himself bolstered by some soothing encouragement from Fe'ryn, and took a few moments to angle wider to sail a little ways away from the nearer pursuers just to give himself some breathing room, to remove the temptation to snap at whomever may accidentally draw too close. It did help though he lost some headway. With some more room, the urge faded quickly and Alarasith refocused his efforts to flying heavenward after the rising star that was Mictecath.
If this near vertical climb was any indication, if the growing soreness in his muscles was telling him, the end was drawing near. Dearest Mic would decide whose claws to fall into, whose song and dance most spoke to her. There could only be one chosen after all was said and done and the decision was entirely hers. He sent her a wave of loving support.'Come what may, come what may, I will love you to my dying day.'No matter who her chosen partner ended up being, no matter the outcome, everything he had proclaimed had been truth and he'd be happy for Mic. Come what may, she'd still have his love and support after everything.
Fe'ryn could feel the sting of his zippy bondmate's wings, the rush of sailing to those dizzying heights. He cast a glance around the other riders, Nyara. The air felt thick with anticipation, practically crackling with the emotions, thoughts, and energy.

Derg: A mini bronze, Alarasith is a bit of a fuddy-duddy. He maintains gentlemanly airs, valuing tidiness, open, diplomatic communication, and decorum. He longs to be father and loves spending time around kids, human or draconic. He'll gladly help teach, fuss over, protect, and babysit/watch over creche kids, candidates, or younger weyrlings if given the chance to do so. He tends to take things at face value and holds grudges or ill moods about as well as a sieve does. He doesn't pay much mind to color politics, perfectly comfortable catching or being caught by any other color, chromatic or metallic, should he fail to catch a rising green or gold. If he has to pull color rank due to a fight or during threadfall, Alarasith makes a point to seek out the ones he had to do so with to discuss and possibly apologize if he feels the need to do so. He doesn't view his threadfighting as heroism, just a duty that he happily, readily performs. He must make safe HR and the people therein, regardless of injury or come what may.
Rider: Fe'ryn, an ex-woodcrafter/thatcher before being searched, is a hardworking man that tries to take steps to try to avoid finding himself lacking, be it in understanding or for the simple day-to-day emergencies of needing a small bandage, writing implement, a piece of paper, etc. Nary will anything he carries with him or wears be out of place. He's an empathetic fellow, which can exacerbate his moodiness and impulsivity. He tries to keep folks at arm's length to keep the worst of this at bay.

There were a dozen or so dragons competing for Mictecath's attentions and affections this morning, and although Sakneth knew he had flown well, it was clear that he had not flown well enough. There were so many contenders ahead of him, some larger than he, others better able to relate to this one gold's desires, but none objectively better, as far as Sakneth was concerned. He would not catch her, and he was frustrated by that, but the knowledge was a little bit freeing as well, because it allowed him to indulge himself and just enjoy the last portion of the flight for what it was, without scheming or playing games. There was, after all, no denying the powerful draw of a gold's flight.
Focused on the pursuit, Sakneth was not consciously aware of his rider being startled by an unexpected visitor to their weyr, or of the way the two humans fell together onto B'shir's furs. Had Sakneth not - finally - been so single-minded in his flight, abandoning pretense of gaming the system, he would have been proud of his rider and crowing in the back of his mind about their prowess (because, of course, anything positive B'shir accomplished, he could only have accomplished because of Sakneth). Instead, the introduction of pleasure through their bond was simply a boost to his own thrill as the chase began to wind down. The bronze's bitterness was not eradicated, but it was blunted for the time being.

Rixth did climb, but it was at a shallower angle than the pack. Mictecath had almost chosen. Soon his family would grow far larger and greater than he had ever imagined it would. There would also be a number of disappointed dragons dropping out of the sky in a matter of minutes, several of whom might be amenable to his company. He sped along, still humming, content to wait.
T'en's breath quickened and he remained still. It was time.
