[PRP] Fatherly Concern (Elzebuth, Kesucianth, riders?)

From what Elzebuth understood, Elibrie was unwell. The boy injured at the Hatching had been a dear friend to her, and the entire event had sent her into a mental spiral. He only knew this much through G'ran and Ichta--naturally one related to Nadry would Impress to one of his children! Though the Weyr had things well in hand, the brown couldn't help but reach out gently to his son one afternoon. Some time had passed since the Hatching, and he hoped that the pair were doing well.

Kesucianth, I hope that you and Yours are well. Short and simple, but he hardly wished to pry if his son didn't wish to share. It was a very personal matter.

It was a line of inquiry that Kesucianth had quickly become accustomed to - were he not so polite and patient a dragon, it might have started to grate on his nerves to answer it, but fortunately, he was indeed a polite and patient dragon, and it bothered him not at all. He knew it wore at his a little, the poking and prodding about her emotions and mental state, like picking at a wound. But she, too, was polite and patient by nature, and so she weathered it all with few complaints (and even then, only to him). Elibrie understood the necessity and the concern, but she felt like she'd gone over it all a thousand times...and it didn't help that everyone knew, or at least it seemed that way sometimes. She hadn't quite realized it at first, as wrapped up in everything as she'd been, but as time went on and she came more out of the shell she'd tucked herself into, it had been hard to miss.

She hid it well, but she found it to be somewhere between irritating and disquieting; in addition to keeping her emotions to herself as much as possible, she'd always been one to keep her head down and let herself be overlooked, so this was all far more attention than she was comfortable with, and for all the wrong reasons besides. But people talked, and there was nothing to be done for it but wait it out, and hope that before long their progress would be deemed satisfactory and she could stop fretting at the same old scab.

The bluerider was especially restless today, which didn't help matters. It was a restday, and after tending to Kesucianth, she'd spent most of the morning trying to write a letter to Juhvek. While she'd eventually succeeded, now she had nothing to do but wring her hands and wait - nevermind that she knew she shouldn't expect a reply (and had even assured Juhvek in her letter that she didn't), but Faranth, she desperately wanted one. She'd tried to distract herself by practicing embroidery, inspired by Yunara, but had been unable to focus on it. So, in spite of the cold, they were now out and about for a walk in the snow...which paused as Kesucianth returned his father's attentions with a soft wave of affection and a courteous reply.

We are very well, Father. Thank you for asking. The young blue had somewhat conflicted feelings about his parents, as gold and brown was really not traditional or proper, but they were gold and brown, and therefore above him in standing, which meant he had no place to question their choices. And they were his parents, and he did love them...though Elzebuth did also have certain ways Kesucianth wasn't entirely comfortable with. But, again, he was only a blue, so it wasn't his place to comment. We are out for a walk, if you are so inclined.

Since he had taken the time to reach out, it followed that Elzebuth might wish to visit, but of course, Kesucianth would not dare to assume, hence the careful wording of his invitation. It left his sire plenty of room for a polite and easy out.
