With the Turn nearing its end and a clutch looming in the distance, it was safe to say that Haveli was busy. There were lessons to do, chores that seemed to always increase, and a whole host of other things that kept the young woman from a life of idleness. Not that one could ever be idle at a Weyr, no, and not that Haveli was ever the type herself. She had grown a severe distaste for doing nothing after her long, long periods of being in the infirmary, not to mention her inability to walk properly after taking a claw to the thigh earlier in the Turn.

For now she hustled back and forth with objects in arms, acting out the picture of a proper candidate in an effort to actually become one. There was a feeling of urgency to her steps that had her carry herself more upright, had her eyes look sharper as she weighed her options. Today's particular episode had her delivering a load of laundry down to the wash, the large basket just barely held in the squeeze of her fingertips.

Haveli really, really hoped no one was in her way or else they were going to get bowled over; she stopped for literally no one.

It was here.

Well, not… here here. Not yet. But there was a clutch coming, and Valian had existed in a state of being excited for his first clutch to stand before… and being utterly nervous. It seemed but a blink of an eye he was celebrating his nameday, and now, the countdown until his first hatching was here. His feelings were wild and bubbling, nerves running rampant until he needed to tamp them down. It certainly helped that there was plenty to do around the Weyr. Chores to be done, hands to never be idle.

The basket of glows that needed to be changed was heavy in his hand, but it was a more simple task. Whether that was good or bad was the debate, as it let his mind simply.. wander.

But Frostbite jumping from his usual shoulder nap spot had Valian looking up, staring at the firelizard curiously -- and perhaps a touch too late to realize exactly what he was staring at, before he crashed into a walking load of laundry. Yelping, he tried his best to keep the basket upright, but it ended up still spilling the fungi across the floor as he did. His little blue and snapped away to the safety of between, only to hide in the rafters and watch from above.

Wincing, Valian rubbed at his sore knee, glancing up at Haveli -- and a small wellspring of terror instantly followed. “I’m -- I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going. Are… are you okay?”

One of the perks of being built like Haveli was happened to be that it took a bit to knock her over. She was thick and strong, not muscular of course like many of the candidates and riders she'd seen roaming around, but just enough that a few steps back was all she needed to not topple over. The basket in her hands did slip, however, and a few curse words were uttered as she vainly attempted to prevent it from sliding free. The basket wasn't as willing to obey her as she would have liked, as it had no mind to listen, and its contents dropped like a heavy stone upon the ground and next to what appeared to be glows.

Her own firelizard emerged from Between at the disturbance with a loud hiss, the green's eyes rolling red as if her small threats could actually change anything. Spite hovered for a moment before soaring up towards the rafters - she had spotted something there, and she turned her attentions towards the firelizard within.

As for the humans on the ground, Haveli sighed and looked down(ish) at the younger candidate before her. New blood, she knew right away, for she'd only seen him come into the barracks recently. He must have finally become of age, not searched for sure, which was a little surprising then that she hadn't seen him scampering around with the other Weyrbrats during her Turns here. It was entirely possible she'd never seen the boy due to her general lack of interest in others.

"I am fine." Her voice held a sharp clip, though not with intended maliciousness. Haveli was more irritated about being delayed than anything else; she was uninjured and whatever was dropped could get all the dirty it wanted to be. It was laundry after all. "Are you alright?" A hand was extended out a hand, mostly as reassurance that she wasn't going to smack him or anything else of that sort. A clutch was close and her chances needed to be stacked. "Do you hurt your knee?"

It was so obvious he had.
