Strength? Yes. Stamina? Well, compared to a bronze, defintely not. But it was hardly a deterrent even if these final pushes had a way of being.... trying, even to a dragon of his experience.
No, but I do imagine it is nice to hear you are beautiful, though he could imagine it was far nicer when it wasn't because one was painting themself across the colors of the setting sun. More, to be both beautiful and strong. words he had spoken before, of course, but he still held them true.
Yulaniath was more than just a body in the sky, but.... H'aal could feel the twist of obsession that would turn into a familiar madness in his dragon. The madness of envy that was already brimming want, want, want. ------
BLUE LITANUTH: Intelligent, but dark minded. Prone to enormous bouts of envy once he's decided he wants something and doesn't get it. Can be hard to read at times. H'AAL: Sharp minded, but has a tendency to be spiteful. Used to be a Sailor and definitely acts it. Only came to the Weyr when Threadfall took out his ship. Will *definitely* do sum smoochin'.

Yulan raced the setting sun, rising as it sank, trying to go until she could no longer ascend. Below her were three very impressive dragons, all of which had their own merits, and as her strength began to wan she considered them all equally.
First there was Cartujanth, the young green who had kept up so well through this whole flight. She was young and energetic and had flown the best, arguably, out of the three dragons. Yulan felt pride in her hearts that there were more strong greens out there, greens like her that didn't let their color dictate their strength.
Then there was shining Kurath, his surprisingly kind words and dogged determination sitting well with Yulan. She admired his ability to know his own strengths and weaknesses, avoiding the more technical flying around the cliffs to save himself to end up right behind her now. His claws would surely be strong and sure, and she couldn't deny the thought of being caught by a bronze was a tantalizing one.
And last there was Litanuth, his determination fierce and evident. While they both knew he wasn't the type to recite pretty words for her, he did praise her in his own way, one that stuck with Yulan even after her flight. She worked hard to be strong and fast and fierce and that was what Litanuth liked and praised. Perhaps he was playing the judge, so to speak, but he was good at it.
Finally it was clear Yulaniath's wings couldn't produce enough power to lift her further. She hung suspended for just a moment, floating weightlessly between sky and ground, before she pressed her wings to her sides and let gravity take over. To Cartujanth she sent a reassuring and proud sensation, quietly letting her know that she'd done very well. To Kurath, a thankful and grateful wave washed over him. It truly did honor her that a bronze like him had taken enough interest in her to chase. But it was to Litanuth that she reached for, the familiar blue her champion once more.
I'm afraid my strength has its limits, Litanuth. Will you see me safely down once again?
Thank you all for joining Yulan in the sky! She appreciates each and every one of you heart

Your strength is limitless, Yulaniath, Litanuth protested, even if they both knew that biologically it was. She would never be stronger than a bronze by design, but a bronze would also never be able to dream of being what a green such as herself was - and want would ooze away to adoration and even something close to affection. She was not an unknown and chosen again he couldn't help but well...
You're insufferable, H'aal huffed as though he himself was not. But Litanuth was three steps below smug, settled comfortably into pleased to have not been outshone by younger, less experienced dragons. It would have been a knock to his pride, after all.
But he'd not dawdle in such feelings and jabs from his rider as he snapped past the other chasers to take Yulaniath up in his claws again, tender, adoring, but certainly not coddling. I will see you all the way home, my dear. But perhaps not immediately.
